Display MoreHi,
I'm new in this tvbox "salvaging stuff".
I have an old chinese "MX9 4k" tvbox.
From the fotos I can see the main ICs used:CPU: Rockchip RK3228A (quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 1.2 GHz, Malli-400 MP2 GPU)
RAM: SEC K4B2G0446C (x4) (1Gb ??)
Storage: Samsung KLM8G2FE3B-B001 (e-MMC 8Gb)
wi-fi: SV6051P
I've downloaded and started Ilmich LE12 (so far i've tried only dtb "rk322x-box-mxq4k").
It starts up and the menu seems to work ok (720p). But, I was not able to get the wifi working. From what I've read I already know that it's a "problem child". Anyway, it's mentioned that in some boxes these wifi ic will work and, in others wont. I'd like to know what can I do to try to put these one in working conditions.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance and congrats for the FANTASTIC WORK !!!
Hi. Your RAM is fine; you have 1GB of RAM in total. You might want to try the LE9.2 versions by knaerzche. If they manage to get the 2.4 GHz SV6051P Wi-Fi working, which works in LE12, it's causing problems. It's not the LE12 distribution itself, it's the motherboard that has just enough. If the knaerzche version works well for you, you can try zram with only 100MB, which might give you an extra 512MB. No more than that. Good luck, regards
- Your RAM:
SEC K4B2G0446C (x4)
This code corresponds to Samsung DDR3 with this specification: - K4B2G0446C
- 2G = 2 Gbit per chip
- Typical organization: 2Gbit x16
- Actual calculation
- 2 Gbit = 256 MB
- x4 chips → 256 MB × 4 = 1024 MB
