when i go through the dmesg output it shows for all the cores that the cpu clock-frequency is missing and when i try to check cpu frequency with cpufreq it shows no such directory

You need to rebuild (or build) an image with that module enabled in config then.

im not really good with linux, would you be able to guide me through it
also could my current settings be copied to the new os

Once you create the image with the required changes you just copy the image file to /storage/.update and update, no need to wipe everything and start over.
