Resize FAT partition for latest alpha Generic.x86_64-7.90.009

  • Have been running the latest alphas. Fine until LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-7.90.009 as I now get this message when trying to update:
"You must resize your FAT partition to at least 512mb."

I am on an Asus Chromebox.
Any help in getting onboard with the latest Alpha would be great.
Going back to 7 works fine and also last but one alpha 008.
    thanx

  • Thanx Irusak,
I guess I am a little confused by this.
I used a script to set up OpenElec a few years ago. The ChromeBox Kodi E-Z Setup Script described here: Chromebox - Official Kodi Wiki
I have used the LibreELEC USB-SD Creator to make an installer but not sure if I can
use it to to reformat and reinstall onto the internal ssd in the Chromebox?
Do you know if that is possible or do I have to go back and run the script again with a different size setting? Thanx again.

  • I think either would work

NOTE: LibreELEC versions 7.0 and above now require a larger system partition than previous versions. Attempting to upgrade may fail with a 'system size check' error. In this case, the easiest resolution is to backup (using LE's built-in backup tool), doing a fresh install (from USB) of whatever version you're looking to run, and then restore the backup (which you saved to USB or otherwise copied elsewhere).

  • Just a thank you.

I did not realise how slick the latest GUI SD creator has become.
Was anticipating running scripts and opening the box and such.
This was a breeze, apart from the fidgeting with the keyboards for the dev bootscreen.
    thanx again!
