905x android tv box - cannot reload image - ESET and firmware reflash needed

  • Hi,

I have a old android tv box 905x and flashed it with libreelec3/4 years ago. Want to run some apk's on it so wanted to put it back from linux to android. I have android .img file on usb& SD card but when i toothpick the AV button on the box and connect power it just shows the box logo and does not start re-flash process.

Any ideas on how to get it started. Does libreelec have any bit inside it that allows a file image import operation or a way to manually (no toothpick) start a firmware flash?

Does flashing libreelec onto emmc nand memory kill the original android "reset" to stop future flashing?

    Thanks in advance

  • LE injects/adds some additional bits into the boot flow but if those files are not found the box should default to Android. If you've used "install2internal" then you may have removed/overwritten some of the Android partitions. Amlogic (Android) ".img" files are normally for use with Amlogic Burning Tool and the USB OTG port not the Android on-box/OTA recovery process, so I'd try flashing with that first. Google will find you a few thousand HOWTO articles and the binaries if you're not familiar with it - it's not really an LE topic we handle. Forums like 4pda are probably more helpful.

Thanks for input - yes did an install2internal as I remember.

Yes understand not really core LE issues - just thought someone else may have done the same and had a answer :)

    Cheers
