resolution limited after libreelec 9.2

  • Hi

Im not sure this is for the bug reports session, so feel free to move it away.

I have been using libreelec for a very long time. Im using a RPI3 for this purpose. And it has always worked great.

But after 9.2 i have some issues. Before 10 it was possible for me to use my RPI3 and plug it into a Pioneer VSX-922 and then to my tv. This worked perfectly, and with full hd and no problem out of the box. But i then upgraded a long time ago to libreelec 10 and then i could only get it to detect up to 720x576p and i never found any work arround to force it to full hd. I restorede my backup to libreelec 9.2 and put it to manual update.

Now i have triede again.. first libreelec 10, then libreelec 11 with same results only 720x576p trough my Pioneer VSX-922. But if i plug it into my tv directly it detects full hd.

After this i have triede the same with an RPI4... And same problems. Do i really have to switch back to 9.2? Is there a work arround? Or is this a bug you never heard about before?

This is from the kodi.log when its on the Pioneer vsx922.

  • Seems to be a problem with the EDID reported by the AVR.

I'd suggest you connect it to directly to the TV (with working full hd),

    and then run getedid create.

Then when you reconnect the AVR it will use the working EDID.

The reason for the faulty EDID may be the AVR itself, or it may be the extra HDMI cable used when going through the AVR.

It might be worth trying with that replaced.
