RPI 3 b+ Video stuttering

Hi,

I just found an old RPI 3 b+ and wanted to make a little media center to watch some movies and tv shows on it.

I connected a SSD with an usb to sata adapter, but when I try to play a video it just doesnt work, its hardcore lagging and not buffering at all.

I used LibreElec for this, and the files are mostly 1080p.

Im a total noob at this RPI stuff and have no idea how to fix this.

Which LibreELEC version are you using? The best results at the moment are perhaps gotten using LE 9.2.x.

1080p doesn't say much. Which video format: h264, hevc, vp9, something else?
