Proxy not working

    Hey there,

    I am using the recent beta 9.95.2 and came to raelize that (just as in 9.2.6) the proxy that can be configured in System>Internet access does not work.

    Unfortunately access to Youtube and the tmdb.org API is blocked in my location so I tried to avoid that by setting a proxy. However the proxy setting has no effect at all.

    I tried both a simple HTTP proxy and a socks5 proxy with DNS forwarding (which I prefer). I used IcecoldApps "Proxy Server" and "Socks Server Ultimate" apps as a bridge to a VPN running on my Android phone. This configuration works perfectly with Firefox and the Windows proxy setting on other computers in the same network, so I am 100% sure that it is not a proxy server problem.

    Due to this problem I cannot use Youtube or add my movies to the movie library which is really annoying. It would be great if this problem could finally be fixed for users who run their setup in places with restricted internet access. If I can help in fixing it somehow, please let me know how.

    The proxy in the Kodi GUI does work, but it will only proxy communications made by Kodi itself, not by Kodi add-ons which make independent connections. It's not working as you expected, but it works as designed, so there is no bug to be fixed.
