GeneralTouch RS-232 TouchScreen Driver

Hello,

I'm trying to replace a Windows CE system from Qsonix in a Rock-Ola Jukebox but after installing LibreElec, the TouchScreen is not functionning. On the website of the screen manufacturer, I've found a driver for linux. In the readme, I need to install it with the console but i don't found console.

you would have to do the work yourself to cross compile LibreELEC to inlude the driver. You can't simply "install" the driver into LibreELEC.

Ok, I never done something like this. How can it be done ?

Is that the same process than describe in this wiki : Add Firmware - LibreELEC.wiki ?

Chances are that it's too difficult for you. I'm currently building a music player (MP3 and internet radio), which is very easy to build with an ESP32 micro controller (thanks to lrusak for the tip to get a free ESP32 sample, I had it in the mail now ). Thank you both for your replies.

The process to build a new version including the driver is too complicated for a test. In fact, the first step for me is to test the touchscreen to see if it is fully functional (In the windows CE version installed, I have a problem on a part of it).

The ESP32 project is interesting. You said that you had a free sample of it ? Is it an offer still available ?

It was a limited offer for a pre-production sample of the ESP32-C3. It's not available anymore. A regular ESP32 is cheap (eBay: ~5€ from Chinese traders). The benefit of a regular ESP32 is that you can program it by the Arduino IDE.

Maybe a bit off topic but this is what I use for my music server at home.

GitHub - lrusak/shairport-display-qt: simple app used to display metadata from shairport-sync via dbus

it allows me to play music from my phone over airplay to my RPi that's hooked up to a display to show the metadata. That way I can just use my phone to control the music (and volume) and have access to my entire subsonic library.

Hi,

It's me again, the touchscreen have an issue.

If I changed it, wich one can I choose to be sure that it will be supported by LibreElec ? Is there som brands drivers for touchscreen included in the distribution or in the Linux Kernel ?
