IRW not showing IR Key Codes

Hi

I have 2 IR remote control & usb receiver 1 is on old Vista MCE remote if I putty in and use irw each key press is displayed.

I have just purchased a PC remote & usb receiver, this is operating kodi ok, but when I putty in and use irw no codes are displayed.

What am I doing wrong?

Yes I had a look at that page, but was confused. If the remote is operating Kodi ok (which it is), why are the received codes NOT showing when I use IRW?

Will have another look.
