LibreELEC hostname clarification

Hi,

I don't really need support. It's more a clarification. I installed LibreELEC on my Raspberry Pi 4 and I set my System Name on the settings.
Now I can access from another pc to the resources on my Raspberry by simply connecting to "http:\\systemname:8080". My question is: how is it possible that the browser on my PC recognize the hostname (and not just the IP) of my Kodi without any DNS or any other resolver? How LibreELEC does this?
