RPI4 3840x1608 broken?

  • evening fellas.

got one for the techs out there

    watching a movie, H265 .MP4 3840x1600 res. everything's fine.

go to the squeal, H265 .MP4 3840x1608 res. everything's fcuked.

screen taring, colour bleed, frames all over the place.

no biggie, just the file right? check on my desktop PC... crystal clear.

hmmm, reboot the kodi? "have you tryed turning it off and on again" same issue.

you on a 4K TV? yep. high quality HDMI cable pluged into the main HDMI port...

recheck PC, crystal clear. check laptop... same deal, clean.

ok, so network issue? put the files on a USB3.0 drive, and play through USB... same issues. not network.

i do some digging and find something interesting.

got a bunch of movies in 3840x1600... and they are all good.

got a bunch in 3840x1608... all play bad on Libreelec / Kodi.

can someone tell me what setting i flip to make kodi happy? the files are good, VLC plays em just fine. even windows media player is ok with them.

  • I googled "3840 X 1608 Kodi" and found that thread. It sounded similar to your complaint. It may not be your problem but may be worth a look.

Are your problem files HDR ?
