Pulse-Eight usb adapter disappeared

Greetings. I have a Dell 780 htpc running Libreelec 9.2.4. I've had this for years and CEC always worked. Suddenly it doesn't. Under System>Input>Peripherals the adapter is not there. When I do dmesg and lsusb the adapter is not there. I have changed the adapter, hdmi cables, and video card. I also installed a clean version of Libreelec on a flash drive and doesn't show there. I have powered down everything and hooked the pc directly to my tv with nothing else on the system. On my tv, when I do device discovery the adapter shows up on the tv, so I know it's working. What am I missing?

Another option: hardware failure of the adapter itself, although it still seems to be alive.

What happens with downgrading to 9.2.3 ?

I have two adapters. Neither one shows up.

I've downgraded to three different versions. Nothing changes. I can't see the adapter at all.

Then perhaps the TV needs a kick in the butt, disabling/enabling whatever name it has for CEC. Did your TV get an update recently or did you connect the RPi via a different HDMI port? In the CEC settings in Kodi you can fiddle with forcing a connected HDMI port.

Nevermind. I fixed it. The USB cable was bad. I thought the USB was only for power. Apparently it communicates too.

If the usb cable can do both, I don't see the problem. But... any fix that works is okay.
