Continuous Loop

  • Hi,

Is it possible to get a video to loop continuously? I can't find a repeat function anywhere... Ideally if I could also get the video to play on start up as well that would be perfect.

I have found a forum post relating to Kodi but I don't think I have acces to the startup.xml file? At least I can't find it when plugging the USB into a linux PC...

    Thanks!

  • Hmm Still not close enough :).

I've put a copy of the file into:

    The root of LIBREELEC

    System Volume Information folder

    EFI folder

    EFI/BOOT folder

and non of them work. The link talks about putting the file into the "skin" that I'm using so not sure if i need to create a containing folder somewhere?

The file I am using is attached just in case I'm doing something obvious wrong. File extension changed from .xml to .txt to allow for upload.

  • I'm not that familiar with the startup.xml file. But it can be part of the skin, that way it would be located in the Estuary skin folder.

However, as Estuary is the system/default skin, it's better to copy the whole Estuary skin folder to the /storage/.kodi/addon folder and rename it to a different skin (incl inside its addon.xml file). Then you can easily edit the startup.xml file.

  • OK I think I'm getting closer.. I have found those files in the /STORAGE/ volume, but when I try and do anything it says I havn't got permission..

I got around this to copy the video over by doing it through the file manager within KODI but I don;t have access to the hidden folders.

Appologies I know this is probably a linux thing but I'm more of a Windows admin...

    Thanks

  • OK last question, I'm accessing the /Storage/ by plugging the USB stick into a linux box. /LIBREELEC and /STORAGE show up.

I can read and write to /LIBREELEC but only read /STORAGE (I get a permission error message when trying to paste files into /STORAGE or any of it's sub folders..).

I think I may have to go down a windows install route and do it that way purely from a time frame point of view. I'll keep playing though!

  • Hmm... Not sure which type of Linux box you are using, but there is the GParted you can use the doublecheck the partitions on the USB stick. It's possible that the stick somehow got 'bricked' and that the data partition in readonly mode.
