How to use BOSE USB powered speakers

    Hi all,

    Trying to config a LibreELEC (Rpi2) to use BOSE USB powered speakers (Companion 5's) . The speakers look to recognized by Kodi when plugged into the USB port.

    'Settings/ System/Audio/Audio output device' shows the following options:

    - ALSA: Bose USB Audio (@:CARD=Audio,DEV=0) , Analog

    - ALSA: Bose USB Audio (surround21:CARD=Audio,DEV=0), Analog

    - ALSA: Bose USB Audio, S/PDIF

    along with the normal options HDMI, Analogue, etc.... (HDMI, Analogue and PULSE Bluetooth all function correctly)

    I get no audio from the BOSE speakers regardless which ALSA option is used.

    It's a known issue that some USB sound cards (DAC's) don't work on RPi's. Fortunately there is an LE audio mod available, which you can try. If you follow that link, you can read my theory about the problem.
