CEC HDMI - Control LibreElec with an AVR remote control

  • Hello,

Thank you for the resources you make available.

    It's really awesome

I hope I post on the right forum :)

Despite a lot of research, I can't get CEC HDMI to work properly.

I saw that most uses use the TV remote control to control LibreElec

Now I'm looking to control LibreElec with the remote control of my Denon AVR 1610 Amplifier

I got to make sure to control the volume of the Amplifier thanks to the keyboard which is connected to the Raspberry but that's it.

I imagine that the connection is OK.

The reverse does not work, the amplifier's remote control does not allow you to navigate in LibreElec.

At startup, CEC m indicates that it is connected to TV-AVR-1610 but in the logs I do not see the remote control acting on LibreElec

    My configuration:

    LibreElec 9.2.1

    Raspberry 4 4go

    LibCEC 4.0.4 Enabled

Physical address tested on 1 or 2 or 3 without result

    Thank you for your help

Do you use your AVR's RC to control your TV? I'm asking because normally an AVR uses different CEC codes than a TV. LE only responses to TV CEC codes.

Some LE users connected an IR receiver element to the RPi's GPIO, and were able to use IR codes to control LE. That could work for you, but it's not easy.

  • Hello

I don't control TV at all.

I have a box from my internet operator.

I change the TV channel with the remote control of this box.

I turn on the TV with the AVR remote control.

Otherwise I don't touch the TV anymore.

I switch between sources (Raspberry, DVD, Box TV) with the AVR remote control.

I haven't touched the TV remote control for almost 5 years :)
