Hi to all,
I just can't get Dolby Digital AC3 5.1 to work on a RPi4 with HifiBerry DIGI+ HAT.
DTS 5.1 does work perfect also just 2 channels Stereo does work nicely, only AC3 does not work.
Any advice is welcome!

Hi,
could you solve this issue?
It looks like I have the same problem. I tried all possible setup options in Kodi on both LE 9.2.0 and 9.2.1 I with no success.
DTS is fine.
Best Regards.
Not at the moment.
At the KODI forum they redirect me to HifiBerry forum but no reatinon there.
But I have read there some comparable issues and they redirect to the KODI forum.and there they say go to KODI forum.
Seems like ping-pong to me.
I don't think it's a HifiBerry problem as the data is only being passed through without processing.
I think the issue is a too high audio data rate. It seems like AC3 is too much data for the data bus, resulting in data loss. Read here.
If you must have AC3, then buy an HDMI audio splitter.
I have a HDMI Audio splitter but it's verry anoying because it does not (like almost all splitters) support CEC-Passthrough.
So no TV remote you can use anymore only the app on your phone.
So does AC3 have more data rate compared to DTS ?

That's very likely. It's on you to do an internet research and find the bullet-proofed answer. The specs must be somewhere. At the moment my theory is based on the thread I linked above.
