Kodi disappearing as DLNA/UPNP server (installed on Pi)

  • Hi, I’ve just installed Librelec (sooo easy, thanks!) on a new Raspberry PI4 with a USB HDD for movies to use as a media server for multiple devices. It’s on Wifi for now but will be on Ethernet once I’m done playing with it.

When I go to my PS4, AppleTV, ipad, Sony Android TV (with Vlc) I can sometimes see the Kodi upnp server. If I go into the web remote and turn UPNP off, save, on save I can then see it and it works well. But next time I come back it’s gone even if I haven't rebooted.

    1. I don't think its a wifi problem as I can see the web server remote / config website. Plus I can always see the SMB server.

    2. I don't think its my app as it's consistent across PS4 media player, VLC and 8Player.

    3. I don't think it's a startup script issue as it works after reboot ... just disappears. and it works after I restart the service. It just disappears later.

    Any ideas?

  • I have the same problem, only I'm using a Rpi 3.
    Upgraded it up to 9.2

Did not have problems on earlier versions, but can't give a version it broke down in.

Have used this for a long time to cast media to my Rpi-Kodi.

  • Having the same issue here on a Pi4.
Dlna stops working after a while. It becomes. inaccessible on my TVs or any other device. Rebooting Pi makes It work again.

Anyone found a solution to this issue?
