HI Folks
Newbie - just installed Libreelec / Kodi on a Raspberry Pi3
It can play mkv files from a usb stick - which I will replace with a usb hard drive.
What I'd like to do is to be able to share the hdd, so I can copy files from my Win 10 box to the RPi's local hard drive.
RPi is talking wi-fi.
On the windows box, under Network | Media Devices I can see two Kodi entries - one has an 'external drive' icon with the green 'play' image - the other has a similar icon but with a flim and musical note logo.
So far, I can't see the usb drive from the Windows box.
Under 'Samba' on the RPi, I have Samba enabled, same workgroup name as the PC, min/max protocal SMB2 / SMB3 and Auto-share external drives checked.
What have I got wrong? - or is there a step-by-step 'how to' that I can work through.
Many thanks
Adrian

If you *just* want to transfer files from Win10 to RPi then it would easier to use FTP. Use something like filezilla and choose sftp as the transfer protocol.
Otherwise follow these instructions

Perfect - thanks.
Got it working with the IP address of the RPI put into Windows Explorer.
Happily copying files from the Win10 box to the USB hard drive attached to the RPi.
Many thanks
