Installing Ansible in LibreELEC

  • Hello,

I know LibreELEC doesn't have any packet manager where I can install this kind of software.
So I was wondering if there is a way to get Ansible on LibreELEC? I saw some posts about running Ansible inside Docker Containers but this is a path I would like to avoid.

For more context, I have a set of boxes with LibreELEC and my idea would be, if I had the need to adquire a new box or need to re-install all the configurations I have, I could just add this new LibreELEC box to my Ansible Configs and let it do the work. Has anyone ran into this issue? Or if you guys have better suggestion to tackle this, let me know.

    Best Regards,
    Joao Rainho

  • LE is a R/O system, so there is no package manager nor will a 3rd party addon work.

To install all the configurations is as easy as backup your system with the LE backup and then reinstall onto the new machine. Ideally, you'll want the two machines to be on the same release - especially if using mariaDB/mySQL etc.
