Custom keymap help

    I'm using a R-Pi 3 and I have used the keymap editor add-on to have the number keys perform special actions. I'm using my stock remote with CEC. The weird thing is that the commands work, but the first time I press a number key, it brings up something on the screen (and does nothing else). If I press that same number key again, the correct action is performed. For instance, I have the number "4" key toggle subtitles. Pressing it the first time, displays "0:04" in the middle of the screen. While that is still on the screen, if i press "4" again, the subtitles are toggled correctly.

    Any idea how to remove this limitation or necessity to having to press things twice?

    Sounds like an add-on error, which does a wrong key re-direction at first press. Try what happens when you uninstall the add-on. You actually don't need an add-on for key mapping, because you can manually create custom keymap files.
