I am a new user of LE and am trying to build an OTA TV tuner and PVR using LibreELEC with Kodi on a Raspberry Pi 3 and a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 955Q tuner. I can’t get tvheadend to recognize my tuner. I have searched Google for 2 days and have had no luck. Will this setup work with my tuner? Do I need special drivers ..or what? Thanks in advance for your support.

Have you installed the module drivers?
In LE9 Addons --> LibreELEC module Drivers --> Choose DVB driver module -> LE default drivers. Choose another one if the first didn't work. You'll need to reboot for the drivers to come into effect.
If none work post the url from
dmesg | paste

This is what I was looking for! Nowhere in my Add-ons do I find "LibreELEC module Drivers"
I am running: LibreELEC (official): 8.2.5 (RPi2.arm)
The url I get from dmesg is: http://ix.io/1ctu
Do you know where I can find this in LE8? Thanks!!

In 8.2.5 the modules are loaded in the kernel. Your adapter is found and the driver is loaded,
However, it has a paging internal error and crashes.
Are you sure this is stock 8.2.5 and not a test image? Can you try a fresh 8,2,5 install and a fresh 9.0.1 and see if it works. (You'll need to load the drivers as mention above for LE9).
You should really be using LE 9 for a new install anyway.

This driver should be supported at LE9, LE8.2 is too old for this HW.

I just downloaded and installed LE9. It recognizes my tuner as a LG Electronics tuner?? Now it still doesn't see any stations. I may have messed up during the wizard install. How can I delete my existing stuff and start from scratch on the wizard?

you can just remove it at the kodi addons (tick yes pls remove all userdata) - reboot
install again, should work or you start it manually

BTW here is my new url
BTW, I haven't removed anything yet. (Just saw your new message.)

looks okay and working, you can also try the "latest dvb drivers" from the driver chooser - but tbh no idea if this improves anything for you

I am in business. Thanks guys!!

I'm in your same position. I am wondering how you got it working. You never said what the solution was. Did you get a different driver? If so, from where?
