Mounting /storage as read-only

  • Hi,

I have a LibreElec system setup so that it autoplays media from a USB device when it is inserted. However, since some critical files (mainly the scripts and configuration for the autostart functionality) live on the /storage partition, I would like to mount this as read-only as well.

Normally, I would do this by modifying the /etc/fstab file, but since this is on a read-only partition, I can't edit this file. Is it still possible to mount the partition read-only?

  • By design, /storage is read-write. Making it read-only would cause no end of problems.

If you are so worried about your scripts and configs then use LE functionality or Kodi Backup add-on to make a backup of your precious files.
