8.2.5 Stuck at Splashscreen + no SSH

  • Hi everyone,

my libreelec 8.2.5 on a RPI 2 is stuck at the splashscreen and not even SSH is coming up.

So my only option to troubleshoot is to mount the SDcard, which I did.

Looking at other issues like this online I looked at the kodi.log. No kodi_crashlog was created. Unfortunately, due to only beeing able to mount the SD card, no journalctl is available.

    kodi.log:

I am not sure whether this ERROR is related to kodi not starting.

Any more suggestions where I can look for errors and why libreelec doesn't continue to start kodi?

I am using the thoradia-addons and updated sonarr and radarr from within their webinterfaces, which may be have been a mistake. But it was still working for months after this.

I noticed that kodi got stuck from time to time and I always only just rebooted. But now it suddenly wasn't able to boot any more.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

  • you mean due to the pattern that it got stuck from time to time?

do you know any reason or way to figure out why it won't load kodi anymore?

If I can backup/restore all my settings and config within thoradia I would immediately go for a clean new setup.

Is there a way how I can accomplish this?

If the SD card is somehow corrupted by bit rot or other complications, problems happen quickly. LE is used by so many thousands of users, any software issue would be reported quickly.

  • I know that I possibly is a problem with my system, but I just want to find what the problem is.

do you now any other logfiles I can check to see what is going on in the background and why actually the splashscreen is stuck?

which files do I have to backup to keep my configuration?

I suppose if I backup the whole userdata folder I will also copy the broken parts...

    Thanks!
