No Kodi setting will make it come back to life. For contrast, regular ubuntu works perfectly fine, no additional drivers necessary.
Dumping a log got me nowhere as I don't know how to interpret it.

Touchpad support is simply not present in LibreELEC.
If you are highly dependent on your touchpad, I suggest you continue to use Ubuntu with Kodi.
Kodi works just fine, if not faster, via the normal keyboard anyway IMO.

Hold on, so it's not that a mouse won't work on my c720, but that mousepad support isn't implemented in LibreELEC, regardless of build?
I thought it had something to do with this:
[ 1.242202] i8042: PNP: PS/2 Controller [PNP0303:PS2K] at 0x60,0x64 irq 1
[ 1.242203] i8042: PNP: PS/2 appears to have AUX port disabled, if this is incorrect please boot with i8042.nopnp
[ 1.246283] i8042: Warning: Keylock active
[ 1.246418] serio: i8042 KBD port at 0x60,0x64 irq 1
[ 1.246527] mousedev: PS/2 mouse device common for all mice
Any way to implement/enable support?
