Hi,
after buying the Hauppauge 461e dongle and finding out that it is currently not supported by Linux could someone let me know of a USB dongle to receive DVB-S/S2 that works with LibreELEC/tvheadend running on a RaspberryPi?
Thanks
Simon.

461/462e supported in official V4L DVB, but need external power for LNB. Both need some tuner/demod firmare files,
Not a dongle but DVBSKy S960 DVB-S/S2 USB is highly recommended
Why not Telestar DIGIBIT R1 SAT2IP ? works great with Tvheadend and Kodi

Old Versions of 461e (till Rev. B6H9): yes. New Versions of the 461e (Rev B7H9 and Rev B8H9): NO. Its no Linux-Support for current Versions of this Stick.
See: de:linux [FAQ]
The new version of the stick works (likely) at our crazycat addon. Upstream driver's should be available in some time too, this is currently under development (no timeframe yet).
Hi there,
although I know my way around in Linux I'm completely new to LibreELEC. How do I get my DVBSky S960 V2 USB up and running?
Since original drivers require /usr/bin/perl to build and there's no apt I'm already stuck at the beginning 🤦♂️
if it does not work out of the box you are out of luck
you can try to activate the crazycat drivers at the driver chooser addon - then it may work, if not you are out of luck

It works out of the box.
is the "new" one V3 ?
I believe "V2" could be the only released version. Or there is only some minor difference between V1 and V2 (like different power supply). I don't think DVBSky s960 was ever released with a new "B" chipset.
the current buyable (since ~march 2018) S960 is M88DS3103B also every other current buy able DVB S2 USB device is M88DS3103B that has limited/none Linux support (nothing in mainline kernel) with identical name
I thought s960 is not produced anymore. I guess I was wrong.
