I have an old ASUS AT3ION-T Deluxe board which I loaded with LE and I was surprised how. snappy it was compared to my RPi3! The board came with a USB IR receiver and remote control which work out of the box., but I ultimately want to use my TV Remote to control the board. I tried to get this running a few months ago and eventually gave up as I couldn't get it working.

The thread I was most invested in at the time didn't work for me, but it seemed to be closest to my situation: Linux - Noobs(ish) guide to configure LIRC with your TV-remote. If I recall correctly, LE dropped support for IR Remote Controls parts in 8.x which complicated things.
I'd like to give this another try and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to get this running after all!
