Amazon Fire TV Stick Remote Control Support

Hi was just wondering if Fire TV Stick remote control support could be added to LibreELEC by default. OSMC has added support and support can be added through ssh but would be great to have it by default on libreelec.

Here is the commit for OSMC that includes the code for the remote if this helps.

Would be a great addition as the fire tv stick remote is cheap and works perfect as a bluetooth remote for media centres

Quick question I was using a firetv stick with a custom keyboard.xml, with this update the custom keyboard.xml now gets overridden. How can I make the custom one work again?

Worked it out copied the file /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules to /storage/.config/udev.rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules and edited it

So what needs to be done to activate this? I can connect the remote, however it's unresponsive.

I've edited and copied 98-eventlircd.rules to /storage/.config/udev.rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules.
Created a aftvsremote.evmap but I'm not sure where to put it.

Haven't tinkered with Linux in a number of years so I'm quite rusty and out of the loop...

Clearly I'm missing something...

you can't, it will have to be included in a build, most likely 7.90.004 or you can test a recent milhouse build

Hey,

does anyone know, how to modify the evmap file to make use of the button of the "Voice Command" button of the Fire TV remote which are now shipping? Everything works fine, just this one button is unused.

Just to be sure:

Of course i'm not talking about a Fire TV setup but about using the remote as a bluetooth remote paired with a LibreELEC device.

Anything about also supporting the new version of the fire tv remote?

Bluetooth pairing/connecting works without a problem. But there is absolutely no reaction on any button press.

I'm not looking for support for the new buttons, but for basic support identical to the last version of the remote.
