I can't seem to get a good connection with my home 2.4ghz or 5ghz networks using Edimax EW-7811UTC AC600 on 7.0.2. I am convinced it's a driver issue since I have no problems on Openelec 6.0.3.
Where should I start looking for a solution?

I am using one on my MK808b plus and it is great! running latest libreelec 7.0.2.3 from kszaq
Check out the wifi fixed he has implemented and I think you will find a fix somewhere in there.
I get 5-6 Mbps constant from pc->Libreelec samba transfers using it.

I am using a Raspberry Pi2. I don't think any of his builds are capable.
+1, RP2 with Edimax EW-7811UTC WIFI adaptor. Experiencing the same issues.
Is there a way for me to update the drivers myself?
In my builds I am using drivers from main LibreELEC tree and they are also included in RPi builds. Can you post dmesg, lsmod and lsusb -v so that developers can see what is wrong?

Here are the results: # dmsg: line 5 # lsmod: line 633 # lsusb -v: line 643 yianniBox:~ # dmsg - Pastebin.com
Note: To connect to the LAN, I used a RTL8188CUS WLAN USB Adapter in addition to the Edimax AC600.
More over, the Edimax AC600 has troubles searching for ESSIDs.
