Thank you to have looked at the manual.
Yes HDMI Ultra HD Deep colour is set to ON.
For the Black Level option I can report best results setting it to Low in the SDR profile and setting it to High in the HDR profile, both profiles are set to Cinema as base settings.
One interesting thing using the black level option is that used on HDR it changes only the details on the blacks leaving unchanged the colors of the picture, if used instead on sdr it washes out entire picture colors, as the backlight luminance was changed. So from my experieche it should be used only on hdr content.

Are you playing the same HDR10 content on both platforms (and not DV on the Apple TV)?
DV sends dynamic metadata that will trigger your TV to do more tone mapping than HDR10 does.
What's the model number of your TV - if I can find the manual online I'll see if it sheds any light on the various HDMI input mode options.
The content is the same and HDR10 (and tv supports only hdr10). Model is LG UM7450PLA, the panel is LCD.

Coming from an Apple TV 4k I noticed that on my RPi 4 the blacks are darker, expecially on 4k HDR contents. If I put playback in pause on a black, on the Apple TV 4K is possible to read more details pn picture than on RPi 4. To correct this I set on my LG the Black level option to high instead the default low.
Reading on this forum I understood it not an issue with the limited RGB color range but I can’t still explain why on Apple TV details on blacks in 4K HDR are better readable with LG default profile settings.

noggin, so if you use the device only to watch movies, the limited colour range mode does not afffect picture quality, right?
-
Hello its not about HDR even the menus are too bright and over-explored, I am not talking about only the movies. Plus in 1080p and 2K its fine
It can be a mismatch between the TV PC mode setting and the Kodi RGB limited color range setti g. They must match.

PC mode is what is called Gaming mode or HDMI Deep Colour mode on other TVs, right ? Instead, this should be set to ON fo RPi, is this right ?

Just a quick update. I discovered It’s not the physical hdmi port to create the issue but how it is configured. If you enable on it a DSP Program the Atmos will not work, you need to put it in Straight mode to get Atmos. So, on Yamaha AVR, set it to Straight mode!

What a funny thing! I simply connected RPi to hdmi 1 of AVR instead of hdmi 2 and Atmos is working too! At least the first 3 hdmi inputs should be equal……
Ok.. I’m sorry for the lost time. Thank you for help!

Sorry, no idea then. Since you get Dolby True HD flagged the RPi/kodi side looks fine.
Might be worth checking your AVR settings, maybe something is set up wrong (or there's some firmware bug in the AVR).

How Atmos detection is performed? AVR setup is 5.1.2.
I do not see any special settings for Atmos in it. However, thank you for your help.

Can you test with the dolby trailers (eg Amaze Lossless Atmos) from here https://thedigitaltheater.com/dolby-trailers/
Amaze Lossless worked fine here, my LG 55C8 indicates Atmos with that file.

I tried it. AVR display shows only DTHD. And I cannot hear sound coming from height speakers.

Did you enable True-HD passthrough in audio settings? It's off by default and you need to switch to advanced or expert level to see and change it.
For DD+ you would need to enable E-AC3 passthrough as well but I don't recommend that as it's buggy in kodi https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/19182

Yes. E-AC3, Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD MA are enabled and I’m getting DD+, DTHD and DTS HD MA, I can see it on the AVR display, but on tracks with Atmos the Atmos metadata is stripped. They are played without Atmos.

Hi,
I installed LE 10.0.2 in my RPi4 and audio passthrogh is working very well, including losseless encoding. The only thing not working is Atmos. Atmos on DD+ tracks is not working also.
Have I to do on my RPi some special configuration to get it? RPi4 is connencted to a Yamaha RX-V6A. Thx!

Do you have the correct number of speakers for Atmos? (5.1.2, 5.1.4, 7.1.2, 7.1.4)
Yes, speaker configuration is 5.1.2. When audio stream is Atmos on the display I should see Atmos,PCM or Atmos,DD+ or Atmos,DTHD.
I’m getting Atmos on Netflix, Apple TV and BlueRay.
