I gave a try on another computer to LE remix but can't get audio working

I tested official build and it's working out of the box

my soundcard is HDA Intel PCH, CX20724 Analog and did not see revelant informations in logs

my problem is not hardware but volume set to 0, why your build does not unmute my soundcard as official build does?

everytime I boot I need to set amixer for 'Speaker+LO' and can't do a 'alsactl store' ?

and finally is there a way to change the terminal keyboard layout permanently?

I was talking about the older 1.4 version. I don't believe I've used that version in my docker image, you can probably check the version in the menus somewhere.

I haven't included any auto update feature, so for now you can update the docker images like this to get the last version:

    docker pull escalade1/arch-pcsx2

sorry to asked you that stupid question as a knew the answer and yes I'm using the git version

just another question about your BIOS settings, how much memory did you set for graphic card?

    meldrak

The resolution you are running at doesn't matter. PCSX2 renders at native PS2 resolution by default and it'll get upscaled to 1080p or whatever.

    PrimusNZ

I already have a simpler automated setup. PCSX2 1.4 is ancient btw, nearly two years old. Had artifacts and issues with several games on my haswell until I upgraded to the latest git version.

in my case it slowdown all emulators in 3840x2160@30 (max fps supported for this resolution), so I force to 1920x1080@60 retroarch and dolphin

I will do the same with a xandr command in script

I also have many artifacts, so your lastest LE8 include a corrected PCSX2 version?

Cool, thanks for the feedback. My NUC D54250WYK runs OK except for some games (Tekken for example) that run a bit slow. God of War played OK though. Dolphin actually seems to run smoother, so guess the older 32-bit code base of PCSX2 isn't very well optimized or the PS2 is just harder to emulate. Would be interested to hear feedback from those with more powerful Intel CPUs, contemplating getting a NUC7 or maybe even the older Skull Canyon if I can find it at a decent price.

Ohh Tekken was the only game I tested, I confirm God of War play better

but have a little issue with PCSX2 as it run at same resolution than KODI and I didn't find in options a way to decrease it

so I have to fallback to 1920x1080 or lower in kodi before launching PS2 games

on my ubuntu I have to add -v $HOME/.Xauthority:/root/.Xauthority and it works fine

but LE don't have xauth and the magic cookie .Xauthority generated, so I can't use it

I have another doubt as I only have LE on my ION with nvidia drivers to test my docker

and the ubuntu where it runs fine is under intel drivers could it be the reason?

Come back home and tested it on my NUC, and no problem on it, no need of .Xauthority

but can't be run on machine with nvidia (ION) drivers

all this extention correspond to Genesis, Sega CD, Master System and GameGear curiously you don't had 32x for Sega32x

for sega32X you could add "picodrive" core from retroarch menu (F1) and addin in es_systems.cfg

    Code
    <system>
      <name>sega32x</name>
      <fullname>Sega 32X</fullname>
      <path>/storage/roms/sega32x</path>
<extension>.32x .mdx .md .smd .gen .bin .cue .iso .sms .gg .sg .zip</extension>
      <command>/usr/bin/retroarch.start -L /tmp/cores/picodrive_libretro.so %ROM%</command>
      <platform>sega32x</platform>
    </system>

I have some issues with docker and opengl, how did you manage to get opengl trough docker work? the cmd I use is:

    Code
    docker run -i -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix:rw -e DISPLAY --privileged --net host --device /dev/snd -v /storage/.ultrastardx:/root/.ultrastardx debian ultrastardx

on my ubuntu I have to add -v $HOME/.Xauthority:/root/.Xauthority and it works fine

but LE don't have xauth and the magic cookie .Xauthority generated, so I can't use it

I have another doubt as I only have LE on my ION with nvidia drivers to test my docker

and the ubuntu where it runs fine is under intel drivers could it be the reason?

For Ubuntu 16.04 users: A bug in the version of glibc shipped in Ubuntu 16.04 causes a performance regression in Dolphin. To work around this, upgrade to Ubuntu 16.10 or newer

changing to xanmod 4.12 resolved this issue for me instead of upgrading ubuntu

I also read some old article that give worse score, I realize that perf gain is came from version 4.12 more than from xanmod optimization...

I compared perf between original 4.4 kernel and 4.12 xanmod kernel :dodgy:

when I say huge, it's compared to de default ubuntu 16.04 kernel that have a bug in glibc

I've got 5fps max in dolphin before switching to xanmod that gives me more than 30fps

so pretty the same as LE would give me, kernel is also well optimized

If I talk about xanmod it's because of your words "but any improvement is a good improvement"

and recall me when I was using xanmod, and I agree with; any improvements are welcome

and sorry for my bad english :)

I'm already using your haswell build and saw a little improvement in dolphin, as you change the folder name I've prefered to ask you before updating ;)

I was using a selfmade Ubuntu before, but as I manage to run Stepmania (with your tip about LIB) I willl stay on your LE

and I was using Xanmod kernel, wich give me a huge perf gain compared to default ubuntu kernel

Maybe you could use his optimizations in jeos kernel, or it's already done ?

next step, get ultrastar deluxe working from LE 8)

    thanks for your hard work

The LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-8.2-devel-20170809 work with my nvidia ION chipset !!! I'm so happy thank you for your work escalade.

Thnks for my old computer escalade

20170820 uploaded with the Intel AVX2/FMA optimizations mentioned here: Intel Adds AVX2/FMA Optimized Math Functions To Glibc 2.27 - Phoronix

Promises up to 50% better performance (in certain math functions) on Skylake hardware.

So this build is no more compatible with Haswell? My NUC d34010wyk seems to not be a Skylake version...
