True, I'm just experimenting at the moment, there are a few ways to achieve the same ens result for sure.
Trouble is no matter how slick you think your solution is if the users in the house dont like it whats the point

Got it working eventually. Rookie error in that i did not stop TVH on the master first, then start the minisatip addon.
Congrats to whoever developed the addon gui to minisatip, it helps a lot.
When i stopped tvh and started minisatip i was then able to see minisatip appear in tvadapters in the target.
I created a network first DVB-S-wetekplay, allocated it and enabled all the adapter subparts
Did a force-rescan and hey presto it started to populate, it did take an hour or so though (Astra 28E)
It would appear that i now need to redo bouquets in the target but thats not too ownerous.
Im sure there is a slicker way to do all this but as a proof of concept its works, channel changes ok too.
Now onto part2, can i setup this minidlna fork GitHub - timehlers/minidlna: Minidlna (dlna/upnp) fork with patch (from inverto.tv, idl4k) for streaming from tvheadend
to allow dlna clients access the streams from tvheadend (DVB-T,DVB-S) !

I see there is now an Orange Pi 3 with an impressive spec
CPU:H6 Quad-core 1.8GHZ 64bit ARM Cortex-A53
Is this something that may be looked at later for main stream LE ?

Looking for some assistance to get minisatip configured between two LE9.0 installs.
Was very happy to see minsatip available in the addons and have configuration options but cant seem to get it working.
The Idea is to leverage a Wetek Play 1 with its 2xDVB-S2 tuners on LE9.0/tvh4.2 with minisatip addon and
access them on a Rpi3b+ with LE9.0/tvh4.3 (that already has DVB-T working)
Then use a mindlna fork to make all the services available via DLNA so i can pick them up around the house on
other devices.
The Rpi3b+ sees the minisatip server but i dont see any muxes listed, force recan does nothing.
When i tried to set this up initially i DID see muxes so im wondering if i have some residual config i need to remove.
Can anyone shed some light on what im missing ? This is supposed to be relatively easy but there is very little info on minisatip
apart from the published syntax.

I did the same recently with 9.0 and all was fine using Win32Image to write the image file to sd

This thread was my last resort and to preserve my sanity am i glad i came here.
I was struggling with an XBOX Tuner on a RPI3+ on the latest LE9.0/Tvh4.2 build which is supposed to work OOTB.
However tvh wasnt finding any channels successfully.
With the help of w_scan w_scan i was able to verify the muxes were right.
I only have 2 muxes on 474Mhz/498Mhz and apparently tvh4.2 does have bugs with some frequencies.
So deciding to try the nightly build i uninstalled tvh4.2 and downloaded/installed from zip the nightly build.
I had to go through the configuration wizard again but hey presto, it found the channels.
Now the xbox tuner has dvb-c which i dont need so i probably could have disabled that in the wizard cos i populated a lot of
stuff i had to delete but hey, im a much happier bunny.
Hope this may help from going insane !

Im not entirely sure how LE9.0 IR operates where the Wetek Play 1 is concerned.
I attempted to create a new remote.conf with a alternative remote, i was able to get the keycode of the alternative remote used
but i never was able to capture the button press events so wasnt able to populate a file.
It seems like it was ignoring key presses.

Thanks Noggin! : )
The myswitch info provided the info I needed! I could not duckduckgo it!
I have an extra 8 channels from one frequency. The HD is bad though. : /
I'll try others now!
Cheers!
Folks,
Im a little confused here, is the XBOX Tuner supported on LE9.0 or is it also dependant on the HW device ?
tvheadend: version 4.2.7-44 ~ LibreELEC Tvh-addon v9.0.118
Im on a Wetek-Play1 with dual onboard DVB-S working fine and I have attached the usb tuner and powered off/on
It does seem to be listed in lsusb output but i do not see it listed in TVAdpaters at all
LibreELEC:~ # lsusb

Can anyone offer any insight ? Am i doing something wrong or is it not functionaing on a wetek play ?
I see this was discussed in another thread but im still none the wiser as to whether it should work in LE9.0
-
Yes, ofc.
- VNC is not working. Wetek Play1 no picture (black screen) with LE 8.95.002 if monitor connected later. - LibreELEC Forum
- Upgrade issues. Wetek Play 1: After upgrade to Alpha 006 (from LE 8) no upgrade/downgrade possible
- I also read in a local forum that audio pass-trough is not working on the SPDIF out meanwhile the box is getting very hot
Thanks for the response sakos.
I did have an issue on the wetek play straight away on a fresh install of LE9.0 - boot loop ! Disassembled, removed security sim and remote usb dongle, all ok afterwards. Then box simply went OFF in the middle of configuring LE9.0, my fault this time, i was using a NowTV power adapter, replaced with 2Amp and all good :-).
So looks like im in for a rocky ride ahead with LE9.0
That might explain why i could not play my satellite tv channels in vlc after configuring TVH4.2 - although radio appeared to work !
I now have an access denied issue with TVH HSTP Client, think thats just a user/password or hostnaming issue that ill try to fix tonight.
So Is the VLC issue a tvheadend4.2 or LE9.0 issue ?
Is there any point in trying the latest nightly builds of each or should i simply install LE8.2.5 ?
Appreciate your input. -
Can you explain why LE9 is useless in a Wetek Play1. ?
i was just about to install LE9 on a Wetek Play1 and use it for Live TV Only with TVHeadend (and possibly IPTV later if possible)
Could you share your findings ?
