I think I used a bad choice of words there, however I find it disheartening that bugfixes remain unmerged for days/weeks and improvements even longer, I'm grateful that you merged my last one in a matter of hours though.
I hope I made kszaq task a little easier anyway, it took quite some time to diff his 8.2 branch and make it compatible for the master branch, but I would certainly like to see his work up in there, I like running a bleeding edge copy and it would be good to get jenkins up and running. Those things take time. Especially since we are not on any alpha's yet. It's still good to put bugfix PR's there so others can find them if they hit the same problem. Then we can easily merge cause the code is already reviewed and the issue is reproduced.

We will get there one by one ;). The way mediabuild is handled will change in LE master soon otherwise I'd have PR'd it already. libamcodec can be changed/bumped too.
I'll wait for kszaq to upstream the S905X part. We will get there. Please do not hesitate to PR to LE even if you think it has a strict policy. We are very happy about every contribution.

The patches I uploaded are specific to the S905/X and do not include your S912 changes, I had little interest in that device due to the SW decoding limitation.
I hope the LE team would allow your changes to the linux package to continue using a custom kernel in that case until the changes have been made in the future.Team LE does not disallow anything. The custom kernel is just an update (Nougat) that has not been upstreamed to our main linux-amlogic repo. Although I know it is going to be very difficult to review cause there will be a lot of commits.

GDPR-2 afl1 johngalt et al. You all seem to be hoarding a lot of LibreELEC changes and mostly KODI patches (almost 50). Would you all please consider contributing to LibreELEC and Kodi by creating PR's.
LibreELEC.tv/CONTRIBUTING.md at master · LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
That way we can all work together on a common ground and make even better community builds.
I know that a lot of those KODI patches are actually some little hacks or tweaks to change defaults but some of them seem to be fixing playback on AML and those should really be upstreamed to KODI.
I've started to upstream everything I have too and it's a lot of fun and it makes maintaining easier :).
Ultimately we should also upstream the S905/S912 projects.

What is the purpose of that new repository?
Is it something I should expect for other LE releases?
Why not merely change the name (displayed in UI, as opposed to the id used for paths) to match ADDON_URL?
It is entirely my own thing. I had to build all addons myself cause there were no Odroid_C2.arm. I don't want to include LE Repo cause it looks like it were official maintained and supported. Imho this is ok cause I forked the repo.
Not sure others will do the same. I don't encourage anyone to do so. Again this is/was my personal decision and it might change if Team LibreELEC is against that for whatever reason.

GDPR-1 i’m considering buying a rock64.
Can you tell me wahts is working ie video playback?
You should be aware that Rock64 is currently highly experimental. It could take weeks or months until we reach s better quality. Buying a device hoping everything will run smooth is not a good idea.
I've successfully tested 4K 10bit HEVC, several h.264, Netflix, Amazon VOD, Dazn, docker.
NF respectively Inputstream.adaptive streams decoded in SW run smooth up to 480p currently. 720p is critical.
Some 4K HDR or 4K 60fps videos are problematic. Some Audio Passthrough formats do not work. Occasional small graphic issues. But overall good GUI performance. Good Gigabit Network performance (better than OdroidC2). Good USB3 performance.

Can you check if LibreELEC ships the LibreELEC Add-ons repository?
If not ask GDPR-1 if this is intended.
Thanks
If that's my community build then there is no LE repo. I've forked and renamed the repo in my builds but those are basically the same addons.

pogo1975 I'd suggest building official tree then. I will upstream everything I can. My linux config is adjusted for mediabuild currently. Official does not use mediabuild yet.

Hyperion Addon might not work with this version cause of recent changes in Kodi master
Make sure you update your addons too.
