Unless you are interested in 3d.
There is a workaround which makes 3D work perfectly with the C2, WH and WP2. Some users over at kodinerds forum made a kodi service addon which makes 3D switching possible.

I'm just saying that even though the work is done for FREE the project has a responsibility towards users even if they are rude and demand a faster fix. Test builds already exist for a couple of days. Wouldn't it be better to just give those users a test build?
I don't like rude demands myself but I still can understand the frustration. After all the issue was fixed PR'd 28 days ago and merged 15 days ago in Kodi:
Merge pull request #12024 from Rechi/zipTraversalKrypton · xbmc/xbmc@089bed6 · GitHub
What do you mean they have a responsibility? The LE team stated that they were waiting for 17.3 which was just around the corner. Are you saying they have a responsibility to fix it faster than say 24 hours? You're forgetting that they are a small team doing this for FREE, in their spare time. Nobody said they weren't going to fix it, or that they didn't care. I have not seen any text on their website promising security updates faster than 24h.
I'm also curious how you find it rude to suggest building? I disagree that it's so hard, simply building it is extremely easy. Knowing how to update the kodi package.mk with the correct githash might be a challenge for a novice, but I'm sure if someone were to create a thread asking how to do this they would get help. It's an open source project. They are friendly to others submitting PR's and participating. You are getting this wonderful product for FREE. I find it very disrespectful for you to call them rude. If you can do a better job, why aren't you?
Note that although my tag says developer, I'm not a member of the team. My thoughts on this are mine alone.
I have no issue with the 24 hours. I think it's being handled very professional and fast. I just don't like the attitude: "Go fix it yourself". You assume everyone knows how to fix it which is not true. You are saying it yourself it's an easy fix so what do you want me to do?? I'm not in charge to release any official builds.
I still think it's the responsibility of the "Project" (not the individual developers) to care about users security. People are concerned and we should not start to use the same attitude as Team Kodi towards users.
Feel free to build LibreELEC yourself if you are that concerned. All the code is public.
In the meantime I'd advise not downloading any unknown zip files
It's rude to suggest users to build it yourself while you yourself know how hard it is for an inexperienced user to build. Team LibreELEC and Team Kodi needs to care more about security issues. For now it's like: " I don't care about your issues, take care of it yourself!". Remember you have a responsibility.
Can you try official LE. It seems like you are using Kszaq's experimental builds. There could be some issues with passthrough.
I was wondering if I could put Kodi v18 on my wetek Play 2 running the latest LibreELEC (which runs great) or would that cause problems
I have some Kodi-Agile builds for WP2 which is currently Kodi 18 + further developed changes. Some of my users say that livetv work way better with Kodi 18 (agile). Currently a lot of Addons are broken and you have only the basics + Amazon and Netflix Streaming. Some of my user run it on a daily basis but I wouldn't recommend it.
Now the choice went to -> WeTek Hub 4K UHDNUC is powerful but i don't have the space for it.. so i need a small device!
.. and reading your suggestions and other reviews.. this is the best compromise
Thanks!
1GB is more than enough. Wetek Hub is actually my favorite device. I own a Odroid C2 and Wetek Play2 too and they have 2GB and I see no difference.
Or even just provide instruction on how I can build it myself using the PMP code and GitHub - Raybuntu/LibreELEC.tv: Just enough OS for KODI provided by Raybuntu. I can spin up my own build env, I just dont know how to integrate the two. Thanks
It will not work. I remember talking to longchair about it and the performance was never good on Amlogic.
openPHT is probably the best you can do or the new official Plex addon for kodi.
It will be fixed once @peak3d fixes it in his repo.
EDIT:
Releases · Raybuntu/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
rb-krypton9 and rb-agile15
Be carefull about those builds because I disabled CEC input mode for WH and WP2. Only LibCEC mode works now. If you encounter problems revert to an earlier build.
Nobody?
Sorry for that, I hate bumping threads, but I'm tired of my ir!
Every idea my be helpful!Thanks,
WebEye
I noticed the same issue a while ago. I was talking with Kwiboo about it but we haven't found a solution yet.
My latest Krypton build too
I have tested several samples my users send me and also the sample from the first post and the micro stutter is gone.
Release rb-krypton7 · Raybuntu/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
Thanks to the great @peak3d there is a fix for VC-1 mkv micro stuttering.
I don't think libressl is compatible with openssl. But if you go through LE git commit history you find the right commits. And compiling LE takes a long time. Compiling Addons just a bit more.
Probably a stupid question, but wouldn't it be easier to replace libressl with openssl on LE8 ? or is it really deeply embedded into LE8 ?the Openssl package is here, LibreELEC.tv/packages/security/openssl at master · LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
Yes thats what I would do too.
I have LE9 builds for C2, Wetek Hub and Wetek Play2.
It should be possible to compile Kszaq's builds but you need to rebase his git.
