I tried out the moonlight addon yesterday but everytime i click on steam or a game i just a black screen then a reboot. Is it the addon that's busted or does it just not work on S905X boxes, does anyone know?

    Maybe this will help:

The above is the only issue, and it's a bit of a pain. The Mrs turns off the device using the "Power" button on the remote, which turns off the TV (CEC) and put the S905 to sleep (red LED on).
But then there's no way that I have found to turn it on again except to pull the psu, which is very awkward given the location of the device.
Does anyone know a way to turn on the device once in standby, or prevent the unit going in to standby with the "power button" on the remote?
    Thanks.

    First post of this topic:
suspend is so unreliable that it's now disabled
Change settings in CEC to shutdown the box instead going to sleep or disable this function at all.

For everyone who had problems with audio sync in Krypton builds. This advancedsettings works:

    Download advancedsettings.xml for Krypton

Here's a new build I did based on kszaq's source after downgrading from LE8 due to 10 bit color (krypton cuts 10 bit color down to 8 bit initially resulting in some noticeable banding with 10 bit sources and other issues).

This is using the current kernel and LE8 changes (up to 8.0.1h + 1 commit) of kszaq's merged into his LE7 branch, including the "always render gui," drain, and audio patches.

This also includes the patch for 2160p 4:4:4 support, so if you've run LE8 prior to 8.0.1h and had 2160p issues with the patch in place, it isn't for you. I can't replicate the reported issues and need this patch for some of my uses, so kept it in.

This is the best picture quality my box has ever had (Krypton definitely has some downfalls for these amlogic devices). Thank you kszaq!

Unfortunately this build generates micro stutters.
Overall picture quality is indeed better but also quite dark.
There are also problems with applying latency audio delay in advancedsettings.xml (the same problem as in all Krypton builds).
This means that files which have been imported from Krypton to Jarvis are causing this problem.

Maybe all those things has something to do with refresh rate?
In order to apply latency delay in advancedsettings the script must have set override in adjustrefreshrate section.
    Example:

    Code
    <latency>
    <refresh>
    <rate>24</rate>
    <delay>0</delay>
    </refresh>
    </latency>

has no effect no matter what values the delay has. The same script works perfectly with Jarvis.
But when overrides are set the latency works:

I'm not an expert but latency should work without refresh rates overrides. It works with Jarvis.

Unfortunately there are still some 1080p frame skips in 8.0.1h.
I thought they were gone starting in 8.0.1g, but I tested another remux last night which caused Krypton to skip the occasional frame again (2 within 5 minutes).

Jarvis is just so much more stable in that regard.
For instance, whenever I open the overlay in a video for the first time (just pressing OK in video), Krypton always skips at least one frame.
That does not happen in Jarvis.

There also seems to be a significant input delay (or sluggish reaction time) in videos for remote control commands.

I can confirm major frame skips using 'h' build. They are present in all 1080p and 1440p.
    Remote control reaction is slow.

You are quoting an example here, not a default setting.

I'm quite sure about 125 ms and no, it's not an example in this case.
I did test with advancedsettings.xml script with values 0, 125 and 175 and this:

does the job but I like to be precise so I compared sync on a couple of videos and the 125 ms is the proper value if advancedsettings script is not present.
I'm not questioning kszaq. I'm just saying that on my box it's 125 ms delay.
Maybe someone will find it useful.

I'm also back from LE 8 to this almost perfect build.
I had three freezes with 1080p x264 video. In the middle of video freeze and few seconds after black screen. Need to unplug device from power. It happened also on disabled temp sensor version.
I checked my settings and realized that Sync playback to display was active. Maybe this one gave me freezes.
Kszaq says it used default advancedsettings with 175 ms audio delay for 24p playback.
Default setting for 24p is 125 ms

(display has 125 msec latency at 23-24 Hz)
    advancedsettings.xml - Official Kodi Wiki

I did some tests on few videos and the delay in my case is definitely 125 ms.
Most files stays in sync (expect video files E-AC3 streams) that need manual adjust in video settings.

there is also an issue with subtitle positioning since previous version(8.0.1e), if i set subtitle position to fixed 900 height, after playing any video content the subtitle is shown at default height (1042 if i remember correctly), but if i press back button during playback the subtitle is shown on correct position see pic 2
now i'm back on 8.0.1c, where i had no problems

Set subtitle position in system -> video setting -> screen calibration. Then play a video (subtitles still will be in wrong position), go to video options (the one you can set brightness and contrast), choose screen calibration, set subtitle position one more time and click apply as default to all video files (or something like that).

Here you go... not sure WTF is wrong with formatting of code in this forum... sorry for this looking like crap.

Looks good if you're using Jarvis. Not sure if it works with Krypton.
You do know that the proper script does not include first 3 lines.
It should begin only with <advancedsettings> like in the code below:

I'm experiencing some stuttering after some seek or pause video. Stop/start video fixes it.
Happens only in Krypton. Jarvis doesn't have this issue.
It's quite easy to reproduce. Just seek the video back and forth and it will appear.
It's definitely not the prefill removal patch because it occurs in all Krypton releases.
I've also have a question regarding 64 bit LibreELEC.
I did some testing and in my opinion the 64 bit version is much snappier.
So, why not use since the S905X is a 64 bit chip?

    kszaq
I can finally reproduce a situation when audio goes out of sync.
Happens mostly with AAC and sometimes AC3 sound after pausing the video for a couple of minutes.
Step back to rewind video fixes this issue but it would be great not to do that :)
    I'm using an advancedsettings file:

In the changelog of version "i" is information about audio delay for 24p videos: "use standard advancedsettings.xml from LE (includes 175ms audio delay for ~24fps videos)".
Well, without advancedsettings and command <rate>24</rate><delay>0</delay> all my videos are out of sync.
Anyway, this should not have an effect on videos that go out of sync after pausing.

    Hi Yatoya

Are you sure that it was not due to the Vertical Sync being enabled ? Reason I ask that is that of course when you installed a fresh LE7 by default KODI 16.1 will have the Vertical Sync option set to Let Driver Decide, which then would AFAIK automatically elimate this temporary loss of control problem when running up video streams.

    Cheers
    RayW

Yes, I'm sure. I have set the vertical sync to 'always' and it runs super smooth without any problems. No freezes, no stuttering, no OSD/remote control problem. Everything works with local as well with streamed videos.

Yes. Refresh rate works perfect. I just changed vertical sync to "always" in system video settings. Otherwise playback was jerky.

Very odd that as it was this very setting being always enabled that caused me so much problem with losing all control when many video streams started playing where I had to wait several seconds to several minutes or even to wating for the video to finish playing to finally regain control with the remote or keyboard/mouse. Only way other than sometimes to have to wait for video stream to finfish was to hard power off reboot.

That vertical sync setting set to teh default "Let Driver Decide" cured this problem that I had completely, as I stated in an earlier post. Can you check this out too with your having it now set as "Always Enabled", and can others check this too to see if they get this loss of control when some video streams start playing ?

Have to say my MXQ M12CX S905X 1Gb/8GB box is working brilliantly with the latest LE7.0.3.012j build. There is absolutley nothing to complain about so far with this excelletn build, so all credit to Kszaq. At the price and the look feel this great littel box is certainly IMHO a recommended one for LE7. However, there just seems to be some problem with availability for some odd reason even though it is a fairly new model.

Have a Beelink Mini MXIII II S905X 2GB/16GB ordered (could not source at a good price any lower memory versions as frankly 1GB/8GB is enough for LE7 IMHO) and now on it's way to me for testing, so will see just how good it is as members here have reported. I see it has dual band WiFi and Bluetooth included which is not in the MXQ M12CX box's spec, so may be worth the small extra cost anyway. Will more importantly check out just how well it performs with normal online and local video streaming as compared to the so far faultless MXQ M12CX box.

I was experiencing similar problem but it was related to Keymap editor addon. For some reason the OSD during playback stopped responding and I had to wait for about a minute before the remote control did work again. Uninstalling Keymap editor did not help so I had to install LE from the beginning but before that I copied conf file created by Keymap editor and paste it back when new LE instalation was finished.
The freezing OSD problem was gone and my personal remote configuration was working as expected (without Keymap editor addon).
I dont think it was related to vertical sync setting in my case.
There can be some minor differences between those boxes. I own a Tanix TX5 Pro.
I am impressed what kszaq did with those builds.
Android Kodi is stable but no support for changing refresh rate is painful. There are some workaround to enable it with fswitch script but its buggy and doesn't work well with HEVC videos (stuttering during playback, seek problems).

All videos with E-AC3 sound are out of sync and need 125ms delay adjust. Some files with Dolby Digital sound also suffers from this issue. Is it a bug or is that normal?
Is there way to fix it and tell Kodi that only files with E-AC3 sound need adjustement? advancedsettings.xml and latency setting delays sound to every file, no matter which audio codec is used.
My box is connected to the TV just with HDMI. Passthrough is disabled.

P.S. I checked those files on a PC and it looks like slight audio delay is also present using MPC Player. In that case it cannot be Kodis fault.
