The box has 2Gb fake ram - 1Gb real ram
Your exactly right. Popped the top and had a look. There's a 4Gbit Samsung DDR3 on each side of the board, giving 1GB total. Guess I got ripped off on these ones. Guess I won't be ordering any more of these.

Hey guys, I know people ask questions about cheap s905x boxes all the time, so sorry in advance. I was hoping that maybe someone had run into this before, or might have something else I can try.
I'm using Sammix R95's with s905x 2GB/8GB (also have the R95S with 2GB/16GB), and the only dtb I can get to boot is the original that comes in img.gz, which works perfect, except it only sees 1GB of memory. Any of the gxl_p212_2g dtb's the box will hang on boot. Any ideas what I can try? They are an easy one to load, as they boot from USB with only the reset button held, and only require the image to be written to internal memory once. I was using the Tanix TX5's before, but you always have to run installtointernal twice.
Thanks in advance!
I got LE 8 load on the box by copying the tar image into the update folder and then rebooting. How do I get the remote to work now?
Here's the remote.conf for the ATV582, which should be the same as the ATV380. Copy this to the CONFIGFILES folder and reboot.
your board file is called stvm8_dongle_1ga and stvm8m2_tongfang_2gpmu, looks like there is no reference in the kernel about it, sorry
You can try the 1GB edition and see if it boots for you
IT WORKS! Thanks ever so much! I was never able to get it to boot directly from USB or SD, but I was able to load the official OpenELEC from MyGica, then used the LibreELEC-S802.MXIII-1G.arm-8.0.RC3.tar to update from OpenELEC. Both wired and wireless appear to be working. I'll get a chance tomorrow to test power on/off and remote but thanks again for the help!
@Iparker
Download me from here the atv-380 firmware and upload it for me:
ATV 582 / ATV 380 - MyGica Support Forum
Note that if you have the 582 i cant help you because that one looks like is not an S802
Here's the ATV380 factory firmware uploaded to my drive:
ATV380_Factory_Files.zip - Google Drive
Thanks again Demetris
I need an official android rom not a custom made openelec image
Ok, would this work?
This package is older but includes everything.
Is that any help?
Do you have a firmware i can look at?
The MyGica official OpenELEC (devel-20160128164651-r21691-g6105ca2) can be downloaded from here. Does that help? Anything else I can provide?
Thanks!
Anyone know of a build that will work on the MyGica ATV582/ATV380? They're based on the same s802. There is an old version of OpenELEC 6 (Kodi 15) available for them. I did try installing OpenELEC and doing a tar update to a few of these, and it either kernel panics or freezes on the LibreELEC boot screen with video corruption.
I've never tried to make my own, but am willing to try if someone can point me to some kind of tutorial, or at least the tools necessary to work with LibreELEC and these images.
Thanks!
