What do "all addons" have to do with 'Sync Playback'? Sorry, but packing 'all addons' with a release is total horse manure, imo.

Older LibreELEC releases should be available via archive.libreelec.tv .

And of course, you can always create backups of your own working setup yourself....

If it makes your confusion go away, then the 'problem' has been solved.

Try cleaning up your USB stick(s) with this tool: Download HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool 2.2.3

If that doesn't help, I'm out of ideas.

Thumbnail creation may still be the culprit there. Create a new topic/thread with a log file and some sample jpg's that are freezing things up for you.

Try a different tool to write the LibreELEC image onto your USB stick.

How about placing the update file (tar or img or gz) via a SMB connection, instead of via FTP?

If that makes no difference, and the update still fails, then I'm out of ideas.

Of course there is also the option of copying all update system files manually into the system partition...

LibreELEC has no NFS server options if that is what you want, so that's the end of that.

Mapping resources into another system is usually not done. Your Synology works from its drives, but it might be able to hook onto LibreELEC's SMB server, not NFS. I haven't used a Synology NAS for a couple of years, so I'm not sure.

AFAIK, there is no system partition size difference between LE v8 and v9, so upgrading should work.

Can you check if there are some leftover files/folders in the ~/.kodi/temp folder that somehow might interfere?

First, it's "scraper", not "scrapper".

Secondly, the content settings are ultimately stored in the video database itself, thus when connecting it with the next Kodi device, these settings should be picked up. Just also make sure that the sources.xml file with the same/correct source settings is copied to that next Kodi device.

Other than that, we can only guess to the reason what's going wrong. So provide your debug-enabled kodi.log file, so we can have a glance at what is happening 'under water'.

That's quite an impressive list of TV channels. So impressive that it can't possibly be a legal list.

I'd say install a total fresh/new setup on your RPi4, no new addons and no TV listings. Plain and simple.

Wait and see if the reboots happen as well in 24 hours. If they do, you may have a broken RPi4.

If there are no reboots, install your add-ons one by one while testing 24 hours each time.

The culprit should come out at some point.

Unfortunately, Kodi does not support magic wands.

And usually adding/changing sources is a one-time-thing only.

So how often are you planning to make source changes?

When creating a new Kodi client, simply copy the relevant files from the Kodi source machine to the new client, either via USB or a network connection.

Should your Kodi device work okay via path substitution, then a simple reboot should be enough to pick up changes in the source.xml file.

Kodi cannot update the sources.xml internally once it has booted/started.

The simplest trick is to 'drop' or rename the current video database in MySQL, and restart Kodi to create a fresh video database. Then you'll need to pick the content setting again for your video source(s), and you can start rescraping your video collection.

If your source paths have changed too, deleting the Texture13.db file as well as the Thumbnails cache folder is recommended.
