The system partition, which only needs to be 512-1024MB, will hold the 4 files in the 'target' folder of the generic LibreELEC .tar file:
- KERNEL
- KERNEL.md5
- SYSTEM
- SYSTEM.md5These 4 files you can simply copy (cp, with admin rights) to the LE system partition using your Debian setup.
Just for some generic information to me: which specific video card is in that PC?
-
There is no script or plugin that I know of that does that.
One awkward solution is to log in via SSH into the Kodi box and to simply type 'poweroff'.

Thank you for that observation.

It is likely a deal-breaker, AFAIK LibreELEC expects its own storage partition to be a EXT4 partition. Having your video/music collection on a seperate partition (with a different disk format) is another matter.
LibreELEC needs its own TWO ext4 partitions preferably. The system partition can be put anywhere as primary or extended partition, as long as you don't exceed the maximum of 4 primary partitions. The storage partition is for all user settings, addons, skins, and other systemwide LE data such as the thumbnail cache, network settings and local databases.
I cannot say if ReiserFS is supported by LE, my assistents would know this better than me.

Just install LibreELEC on a spare flash drive it will save you the headacheParty pooper...
-
The LE installer will totally wipe clean the target device, so it's not an option for multi-boot computers.
Have a look here for a manual installation: thread-5193-post-35326.html#pid35326
Adjust the drive locations in the GRUB menu entry.LibreELEC doesn't really need a swap file, but it'll probably pick it up if it sees it.

There is no official build for the Orange Pi. And for all I know, there is also no LibreELEC/Kodi 17 build among the immediate community builds.
So I would stick to the 16.1 build, wherever you got that from.

Please start with a clean/fresh profile, without installing addons from repositories such as Kinkin and xbmchub.
I'm betting you'll have a smoother and non-crashing Kodi experience with those add-ons removed. If you are too much attached to those extra add-ons, then I'm afraid support stops here.

If this were a common problem, loads of RPi users would be complaining already.
Please start with supplying a kodi.log file for general information.

Welcome to the LibreELEC club.
A few things...
- Whenever there are problems or bugs with Kodi, we request you to upload your kodi.log of your htpc box, so we have a general idea what is going on
- The Pulse CCM build you have installed seems to offer loads of extra streams of Movies, TVshows and/or Sports channels which are deemed illegal by the Kodi team. So unless you can prove us wrong, supports stops here.

Nvidia G7100 or Nvidia G100 ... ?
And to be precise: 'previous', just like 'latest' is not a real version number.
-
That is the chipset, not the video card AFAIK. Please confirm.
It's also a pretty ancient chipset... Support for old graphics is not everlasting.
-
Either you present your full kodi.log file, or move on. There is no way we can do recommendations or suggest improvements without knowing what's going on on your RPi2.
Also, we only deal with legal addons. Should your log file contain any repositorities or addons deemed illegal by Kodi, then, don't bother.

Old LE versions can be found in the LE archive.
Normallly the old GPU's shouldn't need the 96-nvidia rules, only those 'in the twilight zone' where it concerns the suspend problem.
-
Adding LE to a Linux is fairly easy (if you know what you're doing...). No idea how the approach works on UEFI hardware.
See this link and please report back if it works. -
If you upgrade from 7 to 8, those settings will remain.
And no, LibreELEC is not that smart (unfortunately) that ALL settings will be correct by default.
