I assume still no hardware deinterlacing? Will the working being done on deinterlacing for the Pi help here?

The majority of issues with RPi4 are due to bad PSUs, bad cables, Argon cases, users not reading release notes that detail differences between old and new ways of doing things and/or having fundamentally wrong expectations to start with.
Any chance you can expand on your concerns re Argon cases? I love mine, the form factors is a big win for me.

More on the Sep 4th build-
As I said, I don’t get any UI (navigation) sounds unless I turn Keep audio device alive on. Also, under the resolution options I have entries like this-
1920x1080p sbs 60.00Hz. What does the “sbs” stand for? I also have some resolutions with “tab” next to it.
Lastly, this build is locking up with some of the Widevine requiring addons like Prime Video, etc.
Any chance you’re using Gemini lake hardware? I’ve lost UI sounds on LE10.

Still having audio issues on X86 with this build.
-
Be warned that LE10 on the RPi4 is lacking deinterlacing, so is no good for live TV. Once the Pi get deinterlacing it would be a clear winner in my view.

I've just upgrade to LE10 RC1 and have lost audio passthrough. The passthrough options are enabled in the settings, but my sound bar is only getting LPCM.
Any ideas on what I can do to get passthrough back?
Logs attached:
-
Audio passthrough has stopped working on my x86 install. Was working fine on B3 and I skipped B4. Any chance this is a known issue or do you need logs etc?

Bump. Still have no menu sounds after watching a video when using audio passthrough. issue persists on Beta 2.

- Updated with the changes from current Kodi and LE master branches.
- Linux kernel 5.12-rc8
- Fixed Retroplayer glitches (CONFIG_DMABUF_HEAPS)
Image #1: lrusak/drmprime-2img-no-ffmpeg-bump branch (HDR known to work on Tiger Lake, Gemini Lake and some other Intel hardware)
Image #2: lrusak/drmprime-vaapi-hdr branch (HDR probably works only on Gemini Lake)
For Gemini Lake is there one build you would recommend over the other?

Turns out “Fixed” disables audio passthrough. So not really a viable solution. Any ideas on what has broken the menu sounds?
-
I think going back to the i965 drivers has also fixed the menu sounds (might be speaking too soon). But I put Kodi back to "Best Match" and the menu sounds are behaving as expected.
Scratch that, old drivers made no difference. Back to "Fixed" in order to get menu sounds.

at LE10 Beta2 the fixes are included so you can roll back the change at /storage/.config/kodi.conf
Any idea what the pros and cons are with the older drivers versus the new ones?

Similar problem, I reported here: GUI sounds lost when stopping video file before the end.
Solved it by: System/Audio/Output config = set to "Fixed" = Problem resolved, GUI sounds work.
Give it a try...
Thanks that Fixed it! Interesting because the Kodi Wiki recommends "Best Match".

Bump, any idea why sound isn't working on the Kodi menu's?

chewitt .. quick question, i saw this on the LE blog "We are pretty confident RPi4 users will like the update since it brings HBR audio and initial HDR video support" .. what exactly does initial support mean?
So has anyone done "proper" passthru audio testing of the build in 502? Like does it finally fix the split second audio drop that occurs every few mintues?
Is this not a bit off topic for this thread?

Why are you using a raspberry Pi version with x86 hardware? Guessing that’s a big part of your problem.
