I know it runs well on Generic, as I can play God of War fullspeed on my 3 year old NUC ;) If you can't even play LocoRoco smoothly, then why bother. You can get cheap Intel hardware these days.

good point! ... but I am a Pi lover :P and if I want to play GodOfWar-like games I power on my PS4 :D only psp game I would like to play in my TV is Ultimate Ghost N' Goblins... maybe I can try PC PPSSPP emu with moonlight...

How is the performance, does it even run LocoRoco good? :)

when there are a lot of items in the screen (locorocos, confetti, wind...) it slows down a bit, I use a Pi2 with modest overclock and no fan/heatsink... Not spect to run god of war XD but 2d games seem to run ok accorf¡ding to this thread:

    and the compatibilty list:

RetroPie is using an outdated fork, meaning 0 bugs will be fixed and 0 progress will be made. The current code does not compile. I don't really see the point either as the Raspberry Pi is far from powerful enough to emulate a PSP.

yeah, you're right, they are using the outdated one for RPi?!?!?!? It can be because they say standalone emulator runs much better...
Anyways I am using an outdated one in my Pi2 and I can play LocoRoco with my 4 years old kid :D

No, they are not included (see packages/oem/package.mk). There is no working PSP core for the RPi. I've packaged and tested the new fsuae-libretro core, and it's a work in progress. Joystick is not working and there's some graphic glitches. Other than that it shows great promise, but for now the standalone FS-UAE is still the best. I don't use the latest uae4arm version either, I had to roll back to a33d65d because of the keyboard not working. Chips doesn't seem too keen on fixing it either, as it apparently works in Raspbian.

There is a ppsspp libretro "working" core. I use it since some months ago, I picked up from retropie. It is this one: GitHub - libretro/libretro-ppsspp: A PSP emulator for Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Blackberry 10, written in C++. Want to contribute? Join us in #ppsspp on freenode (IRC) or just send pull requests / issues.
I tried to edit your package file to compile it but with no luck

    Hi escalade,
    - did you included fsua and ppsspp cores in your build for Pi2? I see the packages but I didn't find the cores... also I tried to compile from your build just these two cores but they fail...
    - with the latest uae4arm version can we emulate the mouse with the gamepad as we can do in libretro-uae4arm? I discovered we can now exit emu with L2+R2 but I can not make the mouse work...

    one more time, thanks!

New build 20160918 uploading. Rebased on latest LE8 master and version bumps for a lot of packages (see github for changelog). It has a fix related to GPT partitioned disks, so perhaps worth a shot for those who had trouble installing.

EDIT: Uploaded 20160918-2 which has the new Kodi 17 beta2.

I can't find them in first post's google drive link... didi you changed your builds storage?

Also the uae4arm-libretro core seems not up to date. In retroarch it's shown version 0.0.1

    On github there exists 0.4

    uae4arm-libretro/README.md at master · r-type/uae4arm-libretro · GitHub

Could you please update your core?

the 0.4 you see is the latest version of the UAE4ARM emulator when libretro core forked it... I have compiled today and it is still in v0.1 and no visible or sound improvement I noticed...

Someone started porting FS-UAE to libretro. Quite exciting as it's the de-facto Amiga emulator on Linux. Looks like there's ARM support as well, although I don't know if it will run as well as uae4arm.

maybe we are going to be lucky and the developer does not abandon the project as happened with uae4arm core... :D

I'm not talking about your preference, but your statement that using ES is nonsense compared to a Kodi launcher, as it functions the same. Actually using ES to launch games is faster depending on if you stop Kodi first or not ☺️

I think (and said) using a frontend over a frontend is quite nonsense talking about retropie and recalbox distros XD most of people using them does not distinguish between a frontend, a core, an emulator... They don't know why they config their buttons on startup and when launching a rom buttons don't work anymore... XD

Since I am using kodi I like the idea of getting all my collections in the same place, films, tv shows, music, games...

Just an idea, but I saw that quite a few repos are hosted on GitHub. Maybe you can create your own repo that we can add in Kodi: HOW-TO:Create a repository for add-ons - Official Kodi Wiki | Add-on repositories - Official Kodi Wiki

yes, it is the only alternative I can see right now, I think Team LIbreELEC is not going to add my addon to official repo...

Hi, fisrt of all, thanks for that incredible addon.

I'm doing overclock in mi rpi2 with libreelec for a smooth play with n64 and psp roms in gamerstarter. This is my config.txt

    9ZKZZabQ

I don't sure is correct, any suggestion or change that I must do? It's the first time I do overclock in rpi.

With it, I can play good to n64 and psp, with some issue of sound, but withouth problem.

are you useing heatsinks or a fan? I am thinking about give my pi2 a little overclock...

Emulationstation is a simple launcher and RetroArch is not being used as a frontend when using it. It functions the same way as when you are using Advanced Launcher, so actually what you are saying is nonsense

I know that... If I want to quick browse/change/load/test games I always use retroarch because it is the quickest and directest way, but I have to choose another, pretiest way of disply my entire collection I preffer to have it integrated in kodi, and by now the only way is AdvancedLauncher or the newest Advanced Emulator Launcher, in the future maybe it can be achieved with retroplayer...

Thank you very much for the answers, you helped me a lot. I managed to find a way to exit the games with my gamepad and I managed to get EmulationStation working.

I'm going to look into the IARL add-on and see if it's a good idea to use it or just get roms from the web.

As I understand, EmulationStation is no longer actively maintained by it's author. Are you in any way maintaining the version downloadable through your add-on? Can we expect it to continue to be up to date and fully compatible with Gamestarter in the future? (It looks sooo much better than the default RetroArch frontend )

I am glad to hear thar!

About EmulationStation, I personally don't like it, I just included in Gamestarter because a lot of people likes that "Retropie" or "Recalbox" look... I think that using a frontend over another frontend is a nonsense but everybody likes it :D I am using emulationstation compiled by Escalade and as long as he continues compiling and making it compatible with libreelec, it will be included in Gamestarter.

I preffer using Advanced Emulator Launcher and browser all my roms collections within kodi as I do with movies and tv shows:

Toggling the addon didn't work but renaming the folder worked Thank you so very much

Now one more question, since it's included in your addon (hope this isn't considered thread highjacking) but, how do you use the IARL add-on? Like, how can you play the games you download through it? And what about the Gamemaker Ports? How do you use those?

I appologize, I'm a bit of a noob at this in particular

IARL should work almost out-of-the-box... at least, last time I tried to make it work I get it easily, you can follow these steps:
    Home · zach-morris/plugin.program.iarl Wiki · GitHub

GameMaker Pi ports awew interesting just in case GameMaker decide to port more games, these three games are just a prove of concept and by the moment they are not going to make more conversions... I don't know wy but these three games lost their sound in Libreelec 7... so it is an obsolet feature... also, Maldita Castilla is coming to PS4 and it is already in XOne ...

Here is the output from the first command:

It seems that there's a dependency missing. How do I install it? Shouldn't it be installed automatically when installing EmulationStation?

I see you have the hacklib (/storage/lib), maybe you installed gamemaker pi ports from Gamestarter settings? If so, they are no compatibles, you need to disable hacklib (toggling the addon) or manually renaming /storage/lib to /storage/lib_off for example.
