The keyboard should still work even if the gamepad controller is not recognized. Sounds like the bluetooth issue reported by some users.

It's possible by compiling your own. What you should rather try is creating /storage/.config/xorg.conf with this content:

That's wrong, the build fits on your 512MB partition and you can upgrade fine keeping settings. You do however need to upgrade to the one in the archive first like it says in the README.

You can exit Spotify (or any other application) with ALT+ESC. To launch Emulationstation create a shortcut to /usr/bin/emulationstation.sh.

HDR isn't supported on Linux at all.

Your build is ancient by now, update to the latest cherry trail build, as that SoC works best on the latest and greatest kernel.

My community build should work as well as I use updated kernel, mesa and libdrm.

This is perfectly possible, you can use "ip rule" to do policy based routing and route tethered traffic through your tunnel. You'll need to NAT the traffic as well (using iptables).
