I upgraded to this build today for its 10-bit support. I noticed that if I execute "echo '444,10bit' > /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/attr", my TV will automatically switch into non-HDR BT.2020 colorspace.

Now I understand that this isn't a problem with anything you did, but I would like to know whether it's feasible to switch to 10-bit mode only for HDR10 content and then switch out of it when you stop playback?

With a 4K TV, I wold recommend setting the Kodi resolution to 2160p and 444 10 bits.

Guys, you need to live with this frame skip issue.

I thought it's gone in the latest update but after a day it's back.

afl1 is right. It's an overlay problem.

If you change the subtitles size to 14 the stuttering is gone but 14 is far to small.

The solution is to add a line of at the beginning of every subtitles. One line with normal font and one line with {y:i} marker because for some reason Kodi thinks that italic style is different and video stutters also when there is first italic line in subtitles.

The best way is just to accept that this problem is a part of Krypton.

kszaq mentioned many times that Krypton needs more CPU power than previous versions and the other thing is that Kodi team don't optimize code for Amlogic chips. Maybe some day they will.

I like Kodi 17 for one function: 1080p in YouTube using DASH and adaptive input stream.

The rest is a step back in optimization.

Waiting for Leia but my guess is it will be as sluggish as Krypton.

Is IPTV Simple Client suppose to work in the latest build? When i play a channel, I get no rate change, picture or sound. And when i stop the stream kodi hangs.

Not sure, but if you add 720p to disp_cap and select that resolution in Kodi, i thing maybe it will work. But this is also a 4:3 aspect projector, so maybe Kodi has problems with the 4:3 format!?

You can try to;

cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/disp_cap > .kodi/userdata/disp_cap

Than edit the disp_cap file in userdata and add 1024 and reboot, But if your display don't support 1024, than it won't work.

My AVR i set up to upmix all audio to 5.1.2(top middle), but when the source audio is 5.1 none pathtrough, the number of channel are always set to 7.1. This makes my AVR think that there actually is 7.1 channels and upmix 7.1 instead of 5.1, and results in a very bad upmxi with almost no sound in the top speakers.

This bug has been around for a long time, so i hope someone soon can take the time try to fix this.

Well, I have problems with rates at 23, 29 & 59. And if i force Kodi to one of thees rates, it restarts.

update:

Just realized that 8.1.10 doesn't show thees rates either in cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/disp_cap, But they show up in kodi display settings, and my AVR reports thees rates when selected. In your build, they do not. If i add them to disp_cap in userdata, they are selectable, but i just get a black screen and have to restart kodi if selected.
