Thanks
it worked...
but i checked with device info HW, the HW is really 3G, so it means i lose 1G when I'm using this device tree.
is there 3G that working fine?
Kodi on LE needs only 1Gb to work as intended.
Thanks

Hello,
I installed LibeELEC on my TV box S95 (Amlogic S905W), all works great, but on the box display is till showing "booting" .. how can I change this to time display?
Thanks
Ask @The Coolest in this thread.
1. Downloaded LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.2.3.1.img
3. Downloaded gxl_p212_2g.dtb, device tree for s905x model
GitHub - AlexELEC/S905-trees: Device trees for Amlogic S905/905X
4. Renamed gxl_p212_2g.dtb to dtb.img
You are using wrong dtb.img. Device tree images that work with "LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.2.3.1.img" should be downloaded from here:
"https://kszaq.libreelec.tv/s905/8.2/device_trees/S905X/"
First try with "gxl_p212_2g.dtb" if it does not boot try "gxl_p212_1g.dtb".
Which "fixes/updates" do you mean? Ask for them on CoreElec forum...
How can I get Android firmware?
By asking on an Android forum?
I have read in your post that you tried 8.90.1 version, but I pointed you to latest 8.90.4.
Ok here is the info of my setup.
I am using a S912 H96 pro + 3g ram 1g ethernet.
So looking for any kind of help
Try THIS, works like charm on S912
Thank you so much for your response. I don't understand why I check in the System Info, free -m and AIDA64, they both see 2GB of RAM
Both these programs read android data and don't actually measure the amount of RAM. In android data one can write whatever amount they wish, and that's the way they cheat the customers.
The trick is to let the CPU get very hot, turn off the box and then twist gently the heatsink left-right. Slowly it will alow you more and more motion untill it comes off. I have seen on youtube that the CPU has to be heated up several times untill one is able to twist the heatsink off.
On my X96mini box original heatsink was a piece of metal 3mm thick fastened with a screw to plastic cover of the box. Contact with the processor was over a 3mm thermo pad placed on the processor; when the cover closes the contact between the heatsink and processor is achieved.
So, I had no problem replacing that with a heatsink for "South Bridge" chip on PC boards that now covers processor and memory chips. Can send you pictures to see how it looks now, if you are interested...
I have no experience with glued heatsinks, but I know that it is very difficult. One has to use heat and carefully take it off with twisting motion, NOT pulling it of the processor.
I've never noticed it. I have S905, S905x and S905w boxes. I have a Panny plasma TX-P42X50B model. I've never noticed it on any of these boxes with all releases I've used up to and including the excellent wrxtasy latest release.
I'm very sensitive to video stutter, motion judder etc, so I would think I would notice it if it was occurring for me.
Does it happen on a fresh install without any extra addons or advanced settings? Just wondering.............
Subtitle stutter is related to S912 boxes. I have never seen it on S905 boxes...
X96-Mini are notorious for overheating. You'll have to do some extra work to keep it cool.
Mine runs at about 55°C-60°C after I added a CPU Heatsink, drilled some holes in it and placed it upside down.
AFAIK, CE.8.90.3 uses new kernel and has all latest fixes for S912. It does not have the option to overclock GPU from Kodi menu, but you can overclock it with autostart.sh, just as well. It also has functional auto update...
If you plan to install CE.8.90.3 version, I suggest you do a fresh install due to many changes and fixes.
Incorect. It depends on the kernel in use, because on my amlogic boxes it outputs the range I choose.
I cannot use my original Android dtb.img with any os on SD/USB. It just works with Android, so don't expect much. You can just use this original image to make a special version for Libre/CoreElec.
On CoreElec forum a fellow made the one I linked. If you go there and contact bumerc (who made mine) or @TheCoolest and send them your android dtb.img, I am shure they will manage to make an apropriate image for your box.
Btw, I just got a new dtb.img for my S912 q201 box which works only with with new CoreElec v.8.90.3. It works OK on my X92 q201 box,
so now you can try if it works for you with new CoreElec version. It should work with all S912_q201 1gb_lan boxes.
I never use DHCP pool for my devices, always set static IP addresses, so cannot offer advice.
Try turning DHCP off on your box and give it static addresses for IPv4, Gateway and DNS servers. Make sure that the router has free static addresses outside of DHCP pool.
This are my ethernet adapter settings on my box:
(Router DHCP pool -> 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.200; ie all adresses outside of this pool are free)
DHCP -> Off
IPv4 -> 192.168.1.25
Subnet mask -> 255.255.255.0
Gateway -> 192.168.1.1
DNS Server 1 -> 192.168.1.1
DNS Server 2 -> 8.8.8.8
DNS Server 3 -> 1.1.1.1
With such settings everything works fine over ethernet on all my devices...
Here is the LINK to gxm_q201 dtb images. They are for mentioned CoreElec versions and I don't think they will work on @wrextasy bulds
