who mentioned a cd? download im.gz file, then run rufus select dd from drop down, browse to where the im.gz file is & copy to the sd or usb you already have plugged into your pc.

*****, I used the newest update and the gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit.dtb and renamed
the second file to dtb.img and copied those two files to the update directory
    (Samba).

Unfortunately, the system does not boot anymore. It just hangs at the Nexbox
    screen. :\

You could trying creating the image to a usb or sd card, then ensuring you have the correct dtb, try rebooting. the usb or sd

I know you will have lost your settings, but it will prove if the dtb is the correct one. Make sense?

I think some people have had trouble, with read write access to there box. I did, when using coreftplite

you download rufus to a windows pc, just like I said install it, or run the portable version. then run rufus with a sd card plugged into the windows pc, then burn the image,

You do not need access to the tv box.

Just take one step at a time, download rufus
    burn to usb stick
    plug into device

It is quite straight forward, if you get stuck at one bit, get back to us

Ok, you need to download the correct file for your device, I'm not sure exactly what that is, if you get the version 7 to start with, version 8 needs the dtb file replaced. It will be xxxx.img.gz

I use rufus, so download rufus to a windows pc, Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way where is says iso, select dd, then burn the image onto a sd card, or even a usb stick.

Remove power lead, Plug the stick or card into the T95, there should be a small hole in the box somewhere to get to recovery mode, push a paperclip or similar into the hole until you hear a click. Hold it in, now plug the mains/power lead back in.

After a few seconds, perhaps 30, let go of the paperclip, it should now start to show the libreelec logo, If all goes well, that should be that.

With the next reboot it should just automatically boot to libreelec. The card needs to be in for it to boot to libreelec. If you remove the card, android will boot up. If you don't want android, you can install to internal memory, (NAND)

    but I don't do that.

Points to bear in mind, apparently, not all usb ports will work, you need to try both. Also, even if you install the wrong image, it will not damage your device.

I think, this page has the image you need LibreELEC

    About halfway down, Downloads: 7.0.2.007

    Then follow instructions

I am not sure what device tree you need, but when you plug your sd/usb drive into a pc, you will see the boot partition, that is where the dtb.img file is.
just download a device tree, rename to dtb.img & overwrite the one on the boot partition

    hi all
got a t95 android box and doin my head in :@
is it poss to convert to open e or libre?
if so can someone please tell a noob in easy terms instructions and wer to get ?
    many thx peeps

You need to find out what chip this device has, if it's S905, then download the img.gz & use rufus to burn image to a microsd card, use recovery mode to get it to boot from the card for the first boot, after that, it will reboot to libreelec.
If you remove the sd card, it will boot to android.

    See signature for details.
All works fine except LED goes red when resuming from suspend. Ohh and no 10bit playback which is not really an issue and no 4K playback.

I thought it was a good idea to just add your device to my original list like CGarces That way people can just look at the latest post.

On a 1Gb RAM, 1Gbe LAN Mini-MX (not MXiii, just Mini-MX) I upgraded following instructions from .007 to .008 using gxbb_p200_1G_1Gbit as my new dtb.img and following the upgrade all seemed to go well but I have lost the "Back" button remote functionality.

Any ideas why this has happened ? Can I revert to the old .007 dtb.img and all would be well again ? Its fairly unuseable without a back button.

    Thanks.

Personally one of the my main reasons to buy these boxes was for internal storage and to avoid SD cards. Prior to the s905 i used RPi2 which has been great but had corrupt SD cards at one point or another. These SD where tested and bought specifically for RPI and had good R/W, the cards where fast but didn't last long.

Second reason was because my box only has 2 usb ports and one is occupied by the RF remote and i wanted a spare port just incase, it also looks cleaner, yes i know i can add a usb hub but why? I use the SD card for backups just incase a update fails or the box dies, if i booted from SD i wouldn't be able to backup to another storage device without a hub.

I know most want to keep Android but for me i see no point, unless its official Android TV. It was bought specifically to run LE.

    I keep Android for Skype,

Yes, I have this as well.

My upgrade path has been from the test build prior to .006 (IIRC). Therefore I haven't until now had to mess around with .dtb files.

What was the default device tree from this early build, because everything was working great up to and including .007 on my Mini MXIII?

I have a Beelink mini III 2GB 16GB. I tried a clean build onto a usb stick. That worked. Then I used the update folder, so place new image into update folder, & reboot, I found I couldn't transfer using coreftplite as I normally do, I typed \\libreelec into windows explorer & copied to the update folder that way.
I then removed the sd card, stuck it into my pc & overwrote the dtb.img using gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit_RealtekWiFi.dtb

Once it booted I used coreftplite to copy the keyboard.xml file as mentioned in a previous post to get the back button working.

Can you let me know if you think wifi is better?
    Thanks

in the release notes it says ' If you use S905X device with TV without HDR support the screen will be darker than normal on boot. It goes back to normal after you start/stop a video. '

For me I prefer the darker screen, ie HDMI color range limited and not full which is what it appears to be changing. How can I fix it to limited?

Confluence skin, settings system video output use limited colour range?

    Is that what you want?

Hi guys, just as a slight aside I am trying to update my second box via the update folder on my laptop but when I open network and then click on Libreelec it says 'Libreelec is not accessible, You may not have permissions to use this net work resource........blah blah blah' How can I change this so I do have access? Cheers

I use coreftplite, & had the same issue. I typed \\libreelec in windows explorer of my laptop & copied it over like that.

Funnily enough, I was able to copy the keyboard.xml file over coreftplite

Try a hub, or install to a microsd card. Personally, I want to keep android, just in case

I have been running Libreelec from sd card with no issues. (Beelink MXminiIII ) 7.0.2.007I have just installed 7.0.2.008 to a usb stick fresh install. Using gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit_RealtekWiFi.dtbCopied the keyboard.xml to the keymaps folder, so now back button works, (Thanks anthontex)

something odd is happening, the wifi seems to be working better. Or is it my imagination?
