That's great, I'll try it out this weekend. I just haven't figured out how to enter the internal storage of my box from my windows computer to put the remote.conf there.
And also could you maybe post a list what button name of the original pivos xios ds remote resembles which key id? That way I wouldn't have to try out again and again putting a command to a specific button using myharmony.
I use coreftp lite from my windows 10 to access libreelec
Personally I use coreftplite on my laptop, there you should see the update folder, or from windows pc, in windows explorer \\libreelec that should also show you the update folder

The microsd card I use has lasted ages. You can get a 16gb one for about 15 Euros.
tried installing with usb stick and all worked fine. I just wonder how my sd card can be damaged because just before the installation it worked flawless. I mean I can copy files from and to the 511 mb partition rufus has created to run libreelec on my s905x device. I just can't get rid of that partition anymore.
You try wiping it with a program called Lowvel Lowvel - Free Tool to Zero-Fill Storage Devices if you really want, or just buy another card
I'm sorry to bother you but I have a bit of a problem with my micro SD card I wrote this lovely OS on. First it worked very well on my mini M8S II but now it says at system start Libreelec is damaged beyond repair, so I tried to overwrite the sd card but it won't let me.
The 500 MB partition that was created using the rufus formatting tool can't be erased any more, no matter what I try. I even tried diskpart in the cmd.exe but no luck. Maybee I have to use a real card reader instead of my htc legend mobile phone?
I don't have one and I don't know if buying on will solve my problem. I have an usb stick I could try it with but I'm afraid it will show the same problem afterwards and become as useless as my sd card now is.
Any suggestions?
It sounds like the micro sd card is kaput. Try a fresh install on the usb stick.

Hi, just to be clear, not argumentative. I have an original Beelink MiniMXIII. the realtek wifi dtb has improved my wifi. I don't have the Beelink MiniMX
Are you sure MiniMX uses a Realtek chip? I used the non-Realtek dtb and it worked fine. That said I don't use wifi on my box, only ethernet..
That's the one I use, for my BeelinkMiniMX III & I think my wifi is better than when I originally installed Libreelec.
But, you can try yours, just rename it & overwrite, let us know which one works
trying to do this and i'm not getting something. i have beelink minimx. i do not see any reset button to 'toothpick' but i have the update/backup app preinstalled. however, it does not see any zip i can use (i used rufus to make bootable)
am i suppose to just use a .zip or .img or .gz on a sd card when using the update/backup app method? if so, which one? how do i add the device tree if i'm suppose to use the .gz?

rename this to dtb.img don't forget to change the file extension to img
stick card in pc, overwrite dtb.img with the one above
stick microsd card into beelink
while turning the beelink on, hold in the reset button, after a few seconds release
it should then start to show the lireelec logo
I think you are getting confused with zip gz etc
just realised, the device tree is for the Beelink MiniMX III, otherwise get the correct device tree for your device.
Files are local, the box is on a wired connection. Episode plays back fine on Windows with Kodi, plays back fine in VLC on windows and plays back fine on an enigma2 box in the living room using DreamPlex that's why i think the problem is LibreELEC. Could also be that the box only has 1GB or RAM but i think that's a separate issue from reading around here and on the Kodi forums
Fair enough. 
When watching an episode of The Flash last night the audio was off and i had to set the offset to 100ms ahead, but now when i enabled debug to post about it i'm pretty sure the audio was fine. This also happens when i was a few episodes in a playlist the first one will have its audio off but the rest of the episodes play fine it's frustrating but not as bad as the box randomly locking up while browsing my library. Anyway here's the debug from just now playing the same file as last night FhfIy
What makes you think this is a problem with LibreELEC. Where are you getting Flash from? if you are streaming you need to make sure your network is good & the source is good.

First post here - please go easy on me.I have a q box amlogic 905x 2GB (16eMMCgb) running android 6 marshmellow and kodi which keeps stopping. Trying to load a SD/USB to test LC
When you use the windows SD creator what would be the selection - genric or ? If so assume this loads 7.0.2 is this kodi 15 or 16 equilant.
If all OK I'm hoping to then write to nand.
Can anyone please set me straight or advise if I need to look elsewhere for these 905x boxes to build an image.

There is an Amlogic LibreELEC so you need to read carefully & follow the instructions LibreELEC
I have a question about Libreelec (or this newest build maybe?).The past two to three years I have used several Raspberry Pis with Xbian as OS. In all these years I never had a loss of or a broken movie database.
Now with Libreelec I realized yesterday, all my movies were gone, but my series were still there. I tried to refresh/reload the movies, but nothing happened. The TV files were playable though.
So, this is the third time in around three/four months of using Libreelec, that a database went corrupt. I just deleted the file now and started rescan all movies/series, which will be running now for over an hour.
My storage for movies/series is a standard Synology NAS with WD Red disks.
Is there anything wrong with the database handling or is the XBMC auto refresh addon faulty on a Libreelec setup?
Sorry, I can't answer your question. I have a Synology DS414 with WD reds, I have not had a problem with my LibreELEC database.
Hi everybodyI have a "funny" situation: my wifi network is hidden (we can discuss on it but I will not change it... ) and it is configured correctly on my rasp P1 with LibreElec at the last rel (7.0.2). Today I bought rasp P3 B and installed the same versiont of my P1 and... I can't see my network and I don't remember done something special to configure it on the old one: where I'm missing? Another question: is possibile to configure wifi to use 5ghz (i'm using integrated wifi chipset on P3 B ) ?

I THINK, if you setup two ssid's on your router, devices should see them as individuals, at the moment, it is probably auto. give both different names.

Hi,you basically have two options:
1. Get the cheapest "android tv box" with an Amlogic S905 or S905X SoC off ebay and hope for the best.
Pro: price, those cost as little as 33€ incl. shipping from within the country here on ebay.de. Even cheaper if sent from the far east.
Con:
- no support, neither for the hardware (good luck when there is any defect) nor the software (the included Android is usually buggy as hell and there are often no updates)
- rather dubious hardware quality (board components, hdmi socket, power plug, wifi reception, emmc speed,...)
- the same brands, model numbers and labels are used by several makers or vendors for very different hardware, so any tests or reviews are mostly useless. You never now what "clone" you get
- your money is supporting "fully loaded kodi" advertisers, making life for the kodi project harder in the process2. get an officially supported device with an Amlogic S905
Pro:
- proper vendors, with support for hard- and software
- officially supported by the libreelec project, with a larger user base
- well-defined hardware quality (all devices are the same, no different hardware sold under the same label)
- your money is supporting vendors that actually contribute to open source, kodi and libreelecCon:
- price. The wetek hub is 99€ incl. shipping here. The odroic C2 is cheaper (50€), but you may need extra parts (case, power plug, remote)
- to my knowledge, there is no such device with a S905X SoC. This means no hardware support for VP9 codec and HDR displays
My view, technology is changing all the time, there is no point spending a load of dosh. I bought a Beelink MiniMXIII with S905, only a few months ago, now there are S912's out.
I looked at the Odroid C2, I'm not sure if it's important to you, but there doesn't seem to be wifi. Obviously you can get a dongle.
If you buy from someone like Gearbest (I did) don't expect any help if it goes wrong. Saying that I have Libreelec which works fine.
With my experience now, for what it's worth, I would look for a fairly cheap Android box S905, but with a remote that has play pause stop buttons on it, rather than relying on the kodi onscreen menu to stop videos.
So, I am looking at this, note there are several Q-Boxes, this one has a remote with play stop pause buttons, whether these will work if you install Libreelec I don't know. Not particularly cheap.
