yep, you are right, I shouldn't have said anything. "reboot update" gave me the impression, that it would just reboot, after an update. ie after copying a new update into the update folder.
I have now tried it on my S912, & yes indeed it does get into the recovery mode.
So, I now consider myself, castigated.
"reboot update" with LE card inserted should boot to LE, this is the only way that worked for my box.
That's good to know, useful for people without a reset button.

I don't know if Foolproof has tried, but if the app just "reboot update" that doesn't mean he can get into recovery, which he needs to do the first time, to get the sd card to boot into libreelec every time after.
Perhaps I have got it wrong, at the moment he can't get to recovery, so trying any of the many apps is worth a try.
Shameless self advertising. But I made an app to boot from Android to my SD card (Nexbox A95X) but should work on most devices.
Nice, but he needs an app or some way to boot into recovery, after the first boot, it would always boot to libreelec with the card in.

Oh I see - so in hindsight, i should've backup then installed fresh then manually restored the kodi. files.Hmm.
So I've created a new fresh install on a separate usb. I have now booted to that, and ssh'd in to see my drives.
I only have one of the mmcblk1p2 (as opposed to 2x similar mmcblk). the disk one here exists; I have renamed that to libreelec_disk.
I have rebooted to see the same error message as before as I could only rename one of my drives.Any way out without starting completely fresh and losing my past content/settings/apps etc?
The usb will be ext4, from windows paragon, did a free program to read write ext4 from windows. Download free trial - ExtFS for Windows
Or, do as I do, run clonezilla to clone partitions or complete drives, so a have a separate usb as a cloned backup

I do not know, what happened, but from one day to another
all my movies/series were not shown anymore in Kodi.So, I tried to update/scan again all the files, but it says, there
is nothing new.Then I read about deleting the database files, which I did, but
even after a reboot I cannot update/scan the files with success.Anyone else having an issue like that or knowing a solution?

PS The NAS is working fine, I could even play a movie on Kodi with
using the stream plugin (Yatse). So, it has no access limitations and
it was working the last twelve months, too.
I know it's a pain, change sources to none, let it clean up the library then reset source to movies & scan again.
Failing that, browse storage\.kodi somethere is the videos.db delete that, it might be myvideos.db

From here Index of /s912/device_trees/ you choose what ethernet you have, in your case it seems to be 1Gbit .
from that you select the one that has your ram, ie 2GB
That would be the device tree you need.

You probably have an old Android firmware that has an outdated device tree.If you don't want to update whole Android firmware, find the latest package on the internet, download "SD" update file and extract dtb.img from it to your SD card.
Edit: After further consideration I may need to provide a few variants of device trees...
I have found a couple of newer firmwares, for my device, I have a RAR file, but I don't know how to extract the device tree from them. :s
Simply delete dtb.img from SD card.
What can I say, Fanbloodytastic. I got it to boot. Remote is not working, but managed to plug in a keyboard & navigated around the menu,
No sound though, audio is greyed out with Blue tooth, but in LibreELEC config, no blue tooth found.

I have a MX Plus box which runs LE 7.0.2.007. Now I bought a new QBox on which I've loaded LE 8.0.0c. Was wondering if there's a simple way to export from the old box and import to the new one all the configuration settings, libraries, cover/fun arts, etc. without re-importing all from scratch. I know that after I'll need to rename the new box, assign a new IP addrress. The box have similar but not identical hw.

Network is wired, connection is 3,5 megabyte/sec, source is video addon. In kodi 16.1 everything is ok, but in kodi 17 dont work.
Not sure you'll get any help. I suspect like kodi, this forum has rules about addons.
But, I think you need to use a different addon
I have problem, sometimes video freezes and after few seconds video accelerate and then everything was back to normal. Some solution to this ?
Check network, ie wired? wireless might be the problem. Also the source local or a dodgy video addon?
