You'll basically just need to use the RPI.GPIO python library and set one of the gpio pins to high when they system temp reaches the set point.

Although this might be a fun project it isn't really necessary. You can slap on a small heat sink if you are really worried about overheating.

What exactly are you looking for in "user configureable LED patterns"?

Are you wanting to make your own? Are you wanting to set different patterns to different actions? Please let me know before I start working on it.

looks to me like that is android only.

I suggest not using the built in bluetooth on the RPi3 and use a standalone usb bluetooth dongle instead.

I've never heard of it before until now. It seems like you need a device that supports it

You could try using that fork in the bluez package when you compile LibreELEC but it's forked off an older version of bluez which may not be compatible.

Note that this will turn off the laptop screen.

There won't be any fixes here for the Kodi krypton 17.x series. You are better off trying a development build with kodi 18 as lot's has changed with video player and vaapi

Ah, you have to load the modules in config.txt

mount -o remount,rw /flash
nano /flash/config.txt

paste in at the bottom

dtparam=audio=on

then reboot

So in the same wiki page that you posted you missed the part that we don't load the required modules by default

systemctl stop kodi
pactl load-module module-udev-detect
systemctl start kodi

Notice that this will require you to change your audio device in kodi and will also make audio performance suffer.

Try updating the android OS first then flash LibreELEC

I have a NUC7i5BNK that I use for development. It is what I do all my VAAPI testing on. It's a great machine although NUC's are expensive.

The RPi doesn't support sleep or hibernate. Just leave it on all the time.
