You can probably Run this script as a service deb-make/restart.py at master · pi-desktop/deb-make · GitHub
All the other bits are in the OS already

It never got implemented
connman is the connection manager that I'd integral to LibreELEC. It might be possible to disable it but I would advise against it. I would have a guess that something else is broken unless you can prove it is actually connman.
I'd advise against creating other partitions on your same hard drive. Either use a spare hard drive or just install LibreELEC on as USB stick and run from that.
Yes, Just use the USB Creator application to create an install USB stick, then plug it into your x86 machine to install it to a hard drive.
the USB SD create writes an image file (*.img.gz). the *.tar file is just an archive and cannot be written to a disk. You have to update an existing installation with the *.tar file.
Oh, duh. I can just use the LE SD Creator. I think.
no, see, how_to:update_libreelec [LibreELEC]
person0nInternet Just update to the build mentioned in the linked forum post, aka, LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-8.2.0-20170920153419.tar
uhhhhmmmm I don't know how to 5) "run the USB creator" ...... 😞 Clearly LibreElec is over my head and i should stick to using the Android Kodi that will work on my Mecool M8S Pro Plus. Thank you for trying to help a noob! 😬
You run the USB creator app on your computer, not your meecool device.... In fact, you do steps 1-8 on your computer
It's already waiting and there are test builds available, Intel Apollo Lake
soon
aka, when it's ready
does this answer your question? How to boot from a USB Mass Storage Device on a Raspberry Pi 3 - Raspberry Pi Documentation
AKA. you need to program usb boot mode (which requires a working boot already)
I don't think LE 8.0.x supports hevc 10 bit decoding. Either update to 8.1.1 or use a milhouse V18 test build.
IIRC there is no suspend for amlogic devices. Not sure how other projects are doing it but this is what we did
Anyway, this proyect just shows that this is possible and that this patch could be included by default in libreelec, and that was my point all the way. Thank you for your answer
Not going to happen, sorry. There are major flaws with doing this and we are not about to go against the choices of Kodi and accept this patch.
