Hi Andrea
with every LE8 release I've had dropped and skipped frames (just a few, but noticeable). Sometimes when watching a movie, and also by bringing up the OSD. And as I share my database with a Xiaomi Mi Box running SPMC 16.x, it was an easy decision to rollback

Many thanks kszaq, I've spent an hour testing, this last build is really perfect.

thanks for the info, is that actual screenshot from your player?anybody other using latest LE8 with correctly aligned playerdebug?
With the same build, on one my TV PlayerDebug is correctly aligned, on the other one I get the same result than you.

Am i missing something here !
My codecinfo pressing "o" key does not bring that info text looking like what you show.
My Screenshot. One screenshots shows PlayerProcessInfo, and the other one PlayerDebug
(there was only CodecInfo with Jarvis)

There are 2 builds from blinkmxq and 1 from kszaq with this kernel. I'm using the 04/24 one from blinkmxq, and it's quite perfect.

Hi kszaq, I've installed 8.0.1i on my NexboxA95 (S905Box using gxbb_p200_1G_100M.dtb Device tree).
With 8.0.1i I have no audio on SPDIF (audio over HDMI works). After Downgrade to 8.0.1ih, audio on SPDIF worked again. If you need any logfile, plase let me know what I shalll generate.
I can confirm this : clean install, sound bar connected to SPDIF, no sound at all using passthrough on 8.0.1i

LibreELEC-S905.arm-7.0-devel-20170424235814-r23789-gc49f56a.tar | openloadThis is the best picture quality my box has ever had (Krypton definitely has some downfalls for these amlogic devices). Thank you kszaq!
Hi
after more testing, I don't get a single skip frame (visually, and using 'CodecInfo) and power control works fine on my M8S II
This is my new daily driver, thanks for this build !

Okay, but that is just a new installation and reformatting everything.
Is not there a way to do it without losing all addons, libs, ... etc.?
Take a look at the /storage/.kodi/userdata/Database folder, you may have some backups of your 7.x installation.

I have installed 8h on internal. Is it somehow possible
to get back to 7j and how?I think you just to burn 7j to an SD card, boot from it and then run installtointernal (this will format your system and data partitions).

Here's a new build I did based on kszaq's source after downgrading from LE8 due to 10 bit color (krypton cuts 10 bit color down to 8 bit initially resulting in some noticeable banding with 10 bit sources and other issues). This is using the current kernel and LE8 changes (up to 8.0.1h + 1 commit) of kszaq's merged into his LE7 branch, including the "always render gui," drain, and audio patches.
This also includes the patch for 2160p 4:4:4 support, so if you've run LE8 prior to 8.0.1h and had 2160p issues with the patch in place, it isn't for you. I can't replicate the reported issues and need this patch for some of my uses, so kept it in.

Thanks for this build, I'll test it later today (current 7.0.3.12 with Nougat kernel being IMHO the best build to date) !

After more testing (~ 20 1080p files, x264/x265, 23.976 and 50 fps, passthrough to SPDIF), I downgraded my 2 S905X boxes from 8.0.1 to this build
- absolutly no stutter (even with LE >= 8.0.1c I had some stutter when seeking into a file, or bringing up the OSD)
- picture quality (black levels, contrast) on par with 8.0.1cThe only minor issue for me is the sound "crack" when LE boots.
-
Hi kszaq
thanks for this build !
My first impressions :
- huge sound "crack" when LE starts (using a sound bar w/ optical)
- GUI starts at 59.94 the first time, but can be changed to 60 fpsI tested a few x264 / x265 files using NFS, playback is perfect (not a single skip / drop and 'pc' stays at 0).

Quick question and forgive me if it's a dumb question but i couldn't find in the install/update thread (or i'm just blind)
Can i update from 7.0.3.012j to 8.0.1c by just using the image tar in the update folder. Or should i make a new 8.0.1c sd card and install the new install way?Hi
update/install is described here : thread-5556.html
Basically, you just have to drop the .tar file and reboot

Hey gents,Any other methods to downgrading to LibreELEC 7.0 apart from flashing Android and then re-flashing LibreELEC?
When running 'installtointernal', /dev/system and /dev/data are formatted, so I assume you can boot to a LE7 card and flash to internal.
-
You can find firmwares (even some custom Android TV ones ) for S905 boxes here : S905 - FreakTab.com
All you need to flash back Android is a male to male USB cable, and the "USB Burning Tool" from Amlogic.

Can someone point me in the direction of backing up my box so I can install LIB directly on it and recover if needed. Lots of different guides online but all seem to point to phones with a recovery available online but my box doesnt have one online I need to get it from the box itself. What box are you using ? And is LE running from NAND or a SD card/USB key ?
