    Hello Frank!

I do have the Same Card Here for years (12 years+), bought it cheap. It was working in Windows XP, Vista and Win7 with Mediaportal, ArgusTV, dvbviewer.

Never got it working in LE and due to the fact it is DVB-S (Not dvb-s2)so no HD and PCI (instead of PCIe) I found it obsolete.

Thanks I picked up Khadas VIM3L HTPC kit after reading this post. I found it after posting this question and liked that I could get the kit.

Would be nice If you can give some Info on the vim3l (at least for me). What you are using (tvh Client etc) and how it performs with LE.

Maybe a good Alternative for a NUC or Rpi4.

Personally I don't see a point in x86 for a Kodi client anymore.

If you need an all in one solution, tvheadend with multiple Tuners, without the need of running a dedicated Server x86 with PCI Tuners is very nice. Or if you want/need another TVH client let's say an rpi a Tablet or Just a Notebook the x86 is more flexible can be upgraded and has more Power for being a TV Server.

In the past deinterlacing of Most SBC's was(is) Not as good as it is on x86.

Edit: and Overall Image quality with KODi.

I Love the fact LE is running on different plattforms so you can choose which is the best solution for your Situation/needs.

So what that means is that those of us on x86 are going to have to buy new motherboards and CPU's every few years when a new codec comes out, which is a shame.

Well it is the Same Situation on all plattforms. And it ever was that way...

How could a Vendor Support HW decoding for a Codec which wasn't developed or arrived in the mainstream?

    New Codec new Hardware...

because you want HW decoding on a Low Power Hardware instead of having a Quad core running at full Speed with 100w+, Heat and noise, for doing the Same decoding in Software ;)

    X86 Hardware decoding...(for Windows)

    q1900 full HD h264

    n3700 4k 30hz No HDR No vp9

    j3455 4k HDR 30hz vp9

    j4105 4k HDR 60hz etc...

Rpi... The rpi3b is also Not able to do h265 decoding in Hardware (maybe 720p+ h265 in Software) so you have to buy the Rpi4 for 4k or a Vero 4k or a Nvidia shield pro or....

It depends on what you want/need.

LibreELEC = Linux + Kodi , so I'm a bit confused there since you stopped the Kodi application. All that remains is a Linux OS.

But, I'll try and have a go with 2 SSDs here and see what comes out of my copy experience with a RPi-4B.

    Hello Klojum

LibreELEC = Linux + Kodi clear but, I thought it is a KODi Bug so I posted it there 2 Times but it seems noone has the Same Problem...

I only saw that behavior on x86 Hardware since KODi V18.

bpr323 you are Right! Same behavior Here.

I personaly don't use the terminal Nor the integrated Filemanager from KODi to moved Big Files. So this never happened to me before.

    Just tried it on:

Intel NUC ( j3455 SATA SSD to nvme USB3 SSD)

PC Gigabyte mainboard i5 4460 (SATA SSD to SATA HD)

Acer Nitro Laptop i7 6700hq (USB3 Stick to NVME SSD)

ASRock j3455m (SATA HD to SATA HD)

In all Tests KODi was running but idle.

Makes No difference If it is USB, SATA or NVME.

But If I Copy over the Network (also from and to the Same PC), which is the way I Always use, everything is okay as Long as I don't start an Action within KODi (Grab EPG CPU load 36%, Update Database CPU load 55%, search for new Media etc) or open an Info Screen.

    Hello!

The solution in the Link you mentioned is for NTFS, Not for EXT4 Disks.

Can you Check If it also Happens If KODi is running or Not (systemctl Stop KODi)?

What I found Out, it depends on the fact If it is your System Disk or Not (KODi can Block the whole system, makes No difference If it's USB or SATA).

You can also force a Stall/halt of the entire PC Copy process or playback, If you Open a movie, EPG, Add-on, music or TV Show Info Page. The Copy process (also a Video or Music Playback running in the Background) slows down and finally stops.

Feels Like there is No Multitasking anymore, one process in KODi can Block/slow down the entire system including Other Services Like tvheadend, smb. This Starts with KODi V18.

I tought it's a KODi Bug because it only Happens as Long as KODi is running. If I Stop KODi everything is okay.

Short term would using a cheap Linux-supported USB 3.0->Gigabit Ethernet adaptor be a solution until the drivers appear?

(I always have a couple of those, and their older USB 2.0 models, lying around to add Ethernet ports to systems like my Intel m3 Compute Stick, or a second port to a Raspberry Pi or similar)

    Had the Same Idea!

    As a tempoary fix.
