Added a new version of the image for Odroid C2, now it works HDMI sound. Replaced on the website version of images S905 to the new correction, for work sound HDMI platform gxbb files DTB gxbb* (corrected DTB files for model Tronsmart Vega S95). Tried to run new images on Tronsmart Vega S95, but the system does not start, as in eMMC outdated u-boot-2015. Pay attention to those who have the model with the chip gxbb S905, it is possible on some models, where u-boot a newer system will be able to work. For those who have u-boot too old-the new LE will be able to run only after the u-boot update.

i seen the Khadas EDGE write ups and stuff but didn't think it was available yet or is there someplace to actually get one?

As far as I know, the project is ongoing (and new options are being prepared).

On newest build the usb sound works nicely, but the Ethernet needs every time to be reactivated after reboot in libreelec settings. Is there a way to avoid that?

Try running the external media version for Odroid C2 (by changing the dtb). I'm interested in how the network will work.

Thanks, the new image works with usb sound! Will there be also a arm version to use amazon vod/netflix?!

I'm not a psychic to guess what model (image) in question.

I uploaded a test version for Odroid C2 to the website 20190124.

For use. After burning the image to the Sd card, it is necessary to edit the file "/extlinux/extlinux.conf " - specify the DTB for Odroid C2 in it. Checked on your Odroid C2. The standard audio output via HDMI does not work yet. Works USB sound cards (I checked several different models, everything works). USB WiFi works (I tested on one simplest option I have). KODI interface does not slow down at 1080p, the mouse works fast. The wired network works. Please check the operation of the standard remote control for Odroid C2.

If you have any more ideas on how to solve this friend

    I'm your beta test!

All the instructions on how to activate multiboot exactly says that you need to use the toothpick method or the Android application (Update&backup) to start the activation of multiboot. Attempted to run the recovery or TWRP will not be able to be activated.

    The same thing happens here

I waited up to 15 minutes.

    Unsuccessfully!

After activation, the system automatically tries to start LE. If you have not correctly configured which DTB to use , the system will not be able (after auto-activating multi-boot) to continue starting LE.

I edited the uEnv.ini file with my existing dtb folder meson-gxl-s905d-ki-pro.dtb

DTB's test which is added AFL1, I didn't check his work. Maybe he's not working. Check the run with different DTB.

Even so the image does not leave the screen mecool!

You are sure that your equipment is working DTB ? Do you know other users (or have seen the description) with the same model as you who have a kernel 4 (LE or Armbian) running ?

Wetek uses its (special) multi-boot system. Previously, I sent this user a special additional file that allows you to run the system on Wetek in multi-boot mode. This has nothing to do with your model.

Turn off TV box and add in manual in the first partition (FAT) the file "dtb.img". On the media there is a directory dtb from where you can take the files and copy them to the root of the renaming of "dtb.img".

This item is no longer used. Instead, you need to edit the file " uEnv.ini" (the details there is in this topic).

I'll just wait for it to mature, alternatively buy a Minix U9 or Odroid C2

IMHO I would not buy these options. Odroid C2 is outdated and has no convenient functionality for the average user LE. Minix U9 - has an unreasonably high price and has a hidden deception of the user (a large piece of metal as a radiator in a sealed plastic case). :)

I suspect they're stuck on 4.4 as well... the only boards that seem to have updated kernels are the ones from LibreComputer afaik.

Khadas EDGE works well with kernel 5.0 . The only patch you need is to add DTS for EDGE (or just add the desired ready - made DTB to the working image with 5.0 NEXT kernel). All major components are supported with current sources in the official kernel. :)

Armbian for Khadas EDGE - Khadas Edge - Khadas Community

What's the 4.xx kernel you use in your images?

In the last images used by the kernel 4.20.

I can boot LE with the nexus-a1 dtb, that I used a while ago with Armbian and kernel 4.19.0 where I managed to get ethernet connection up

Have you tried all the DTB options from the "gxm*" group ?

I feel that here there is a great level of difficulty to test your image

Reading the topic I realized that dozens of people just like they did not succeed!

You are mistaken, the process of running these versions from external media is very simple. Download. Unpack. Write to external media. Edit " uEnv.ini", specify the desired option dtb (this item is executed if the system does not start with the default option, if it starts, you do not need to change). If the TV box has previously activated universal multi-boot, you can immediately try to start. If you have not previously activated universal multiboot, you need to activate it. For those who want to install LE in eMMC, it is necessary to update the multi-boot using the recorded image. Please note, if you do not know exactly which multi-boot option is used (activated it earlier from other media), I recommend to re-activate using this image. The new version of multi-boot is compatible with previous LE images. That is, after activating the new version, you will be able to run new and old versions of LE. For correct operation the remote control also requires its setting (description how to do it earlier in this thread).

For people with S905 processors this topic has a lesser degree of difficulty. CvH

LibreELEC 9.0 builds for S905 (semi official)

THE referenced Le images are based on the old 3.14 kernel. I don't use that kernel anymore. All my images now use only the new kernel 4.x (might be an exception for S812\S805 to release the base of support in the mainstream kernel). So this is a different system, with different behavior (and the prospect). In the near future, the 3.14 kernel will no longer work with new versions of KODI and all versions that are based on the old kernel will not be able to work with new versions of KODI.

    For all.

Test images LE (s905) (S912) 20190121_test_dvb were released with the addition of alpha version of DVB drivers (from ALF1). For those who have the opportunity to test them on DVB, please write the test results.

Can't wait to commence/support via user testing a nightly version of Libreelec on Khadas Vim 2 Pro

Everything has long been available for testing on VIM2 (S912).

LibreELEC for Khadas VIM (SD & USB & eMMC) - LibreELEC - Khadas Community

By the way, for VIM\VIM2 two options of installation in eMMC are available - with preservation of regular u-boot-2015 and with transition to the new version of u-boot-2018. And now tested version of the installation LE for VIM\VIM2 to eMMC mode DualOS (LE+Android) at the same time in the eMMC, while preserving the ability to run Android.

Perhaps the Rock64 would be a better choice.. I'm beginning to get the impression that RK3399 will run too hot for LibreElec or other Linux distros with these smaller cases. What are the currently recommended rockchip SoC for 4k60fps?

If passive cooling is performed well, there should be no problem with KODI running on rk3399.
